Thank You Willie and all your supporters, you helped us finish 2025 with warm hearts and happiness!
A moustache-less Dr Pewarchuk stopped by the office for a photo and catch up with the team last week. We are so impressed by Willie's imaginative fundraising idea and the incredible community-spirit it has generated. After the on-ice moustache shave was finished and we tallied up all the numbers, a total of $47,822 was donated to the cause! This far exceeded Willie's goal of $20,000. Thanks to the Jim Pattison donation match the total will be doubled, what an incredible result. Congratulations Willie, happy retirement, and thank you to everyone who donated and sent messages.

Willie shared this message: "Thanks to everyone who helped make this hair-razing experience fun and successful! I am grateful for your kind words and overwhelmed by your generosity. Together, we raised $95,644 for equipment to help our local healthcare staff care for citizens of the beautiful Cowichan Valley."

As we head into the last mile of our $20 million campaign to fund exceptional medical equipment for Cowichan’s new hospital, we are grateful for every donation. To receive a tax receipt for the 2025 tax year, donations must be received by December 31st.

You can donate using a credit card online and your tax receipt will be automatically emailed to you, or you can call our office at 250.701.0399.

Donations can be mailed, or hand-delivered, to our office at 7233 Trans-Canada Highway. Please note our office hours over the holiday period.

THANK YOU to everyone who purchased a Holiday Smile Cookie this season, and to all seven Tim Hortons restaurants in the Valley who selected Cowichan District Hospital Foundation to benefit from the program. Together over $21,000 was raised and half of that comes directly to CDHF, helping us support exceptional healthcare for our community.

The Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie week has become a wonderful tradition for us and a great chance to connect widely in our community. It's also a highlight of our year to share smile cookies with the incredible staff at CDH and Cairnsmore Place 😃🍪

We're so excited for our Hockey for Healthcare game night with the Cowichan Valley Capitals as they take on the on Saturday! There are over 60 items in our huge hockey silent auction including prints, original art, posters, a jersey and many signed items. You have to be at the game to bid. Our incredible local doctor - Dr Pewarchuk - will be concluding his moustache fundraiser on-ice during the 1st intermission. Make sure you pick up a stick on moustache in the lobby and cheer him on, he'll be saying goodbye to a 35 year-old tradition! See you at the game, Saturday Dec 6, doors at 6.00pm

It's a great time to clear out any returnables before the holiday season! Champion fundraiser Wanda has organised another fundraising bottle drive with the Rotary Club of Chemainus. Bring your returnables to the 'Rotary Bunker' opposite Subway on Saturday, 10 am - 2 pm. All funds raised will contribute towards the purchase of a cardiac monitor. Only $2,417 left to raise!
