JACK, Norman Ernest

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the loss of our cherished husband, father and grandfather. Norman E. Jack, of Dundalk passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the age of 77.

Devoted husband of Brenda Copeland for 50 years, loving and supportive father of Christine (Fred) and Charlene (Kenny), exceptionally proud and admired “Pa” of Tristan, Wyatt and Sam Goheen, Charlotte and Quentin Welsh and honorary grandpa to Bailey, Jakob and Max. Adored by his “fur kids” Honey and Rusty. Dear brother-in-law of the late Stuart (Maxine), the late Glenn (the late Shirley) and his friend Joan, Joyce (the late Emerson), Russ (Rennie), and Brian (Janice). Predeceased by his parents Ernie and Vi, sisters Winnie and Rena and mother-in-law Hazel Batchelor. He leaves behind to mourn his passing many nieces, nephews, dear friends, colleagues and community members.

Norm was a valued and respected member of his community. He graduated from the University of Toronto Funeral Services - Class of 1966, and owned and operated the McMillan & Jack Funeral Home with his wife Brenda for the past 47 years. His sincere compassion and his kind and caring ways have guided many families through their most difficult days. During his 43 years in politics, he served as Reeve, Deputy Mayor and Councillor in the Village of Dundalk and the Township of Southgate, and as a Councillor for the County of Grey, sitting on numerous committees. He was honoured to belong to the Dundalk Masonic Lodge. He was very proud of his home town and loved watching his family grow up here. The arena, Medical Centre, parks, Library, Fire Hall, and ambulance service are just a few of the many things Norm had a role in. Norm was the last remaining active founding and Charter Member of the Dundalk Lions Club (established in 1973) and it was one of his biggest passions.

Norm devoted his life to his family and his community. When he wasn’t volunteering or working, you could find “Pa” on the road with Brenda supporting the grandchildren in all their activities.
His generosity, kindness, compassion and witty sense of humor will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Norm was a man of integrity who dedicated his life to making other people’s lives a little bit better.

Norm’s “Tee Hee” will be heard in our hearts forever.

We believe the best way to honour Norm’s dedication and involvement with the Lions Club and Fire Department is to respectfully request donations be directed to these organizations.

Friends and family are invited to a drive through visitation to be held at the Dundalk Fire Hall, 85 Dundalk Street, Dundalk, Ontario on Friday from 2-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
Please remain in your vehicles as you pay your respects.
*Masks or face coverings must be worn.*

A private funeral service celebrating the life of Norm will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Attendance is limited.
Friends and extended family are welcome to listen to the service from inside your vehicles at the Dundalk Community Centre parking lot through an FM radio station (details will be provided upon entry) or view the service via live stream by visiting the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home page (https://www.facebook.com/mccullochwatson/)
