What’s In Your CBD Oil? Making Sense of Lab Tests

If you’ve done any reading up at all on CBD oil, CBD v**e liquids, or basically any CBD-based product for pain, anxiety, or depression relief, then you’ve likely heard something at some point about third-party lab reports. But what are they, and how do you read them?

So, let’s talk about why third-party lab reports are needed in the first place. Since the present-day cannabis industry is largely unregulated today, “manufacturers” and processors of the herb can pretty much get away with whatever they want in terms of how they label their products, what goes into their products, and what DOES NOT go into their products.

Naturally, this presents quite the mystery for the innocent patient or genuine customer who wants to find a good, safe, and effective product that will help them find relief from their specific condition.

As such, CBD third party lab reports are basically a means to provide an unbiased verification of what’s actually in the product that you’re buying. There have actually been CBD companies in the past who have gotten warning letters from the federal government for advertising “CBD” products that were randomly tested to contain practically nothing but coconut oil. When news came of this, it prompted both consumers and the “real” manufacturers alike to demand heightened transparency in terms of what’s actually in the product being sold. This is where the third-party labs come in.

So we wish to give you everything you need to know about buying top-quality CBD goods online without getting deceived.

Understanding Why Third Party Lab Testing Is So Important.....

Before you learn how to read CBD oil third-party lab reports, let’s focus on the essence of lab testing. Lab reports are generated by independent laboratories to check the overall quality of a given CBD product. Independent labs are more trustworthy, as they are fully responsible for the results, with no influence or input by the end retailer.

As the popularity of CBD oil keeps gaining pace across the world, quality controls are scant, to say the least. This, in turn, makes finding a reputable manufacturer a hard nut to crack these days. The market is flooded with a range of low-quality, unlabeled CBD products. Some of them contain no CBD at all, while others come with harmful synthetics to cut down on the manufacturing expenses.

So, when buying CBD oil, you need to take extra caution. CBD oil third party lab reports will tell you everything about the content of the product. Moreover, they also provide customers with the information of CBD concentration. A lab test result should also show the information about the presence of other cannabinoids. And to cut the long story short, lab reports reflect the content and the quality of the CBD oil you are researching – this is why they are paramount for your experience with Cannabidiol.

What to Look For in A CBD Lab Report

Now that you understand the importance of choosing a manufacturer who is open about its third-party lab reports, let’s go through the list of compounds that such a report carries so that you know what to look for in your lab sheet.

Potency

Simply put, potency reflects the exact amount of cannabinoids in a particular CBD product. Although cannabidiol is the main ingredient of all CBD-infused goods, it’s not the only active substance present in the h**p plant.

That being said, lab tests prove invaluable for determining the level of cannabinoids and the potency of the product. Many companies test their goods for the presence of CBD, CBDA, CBD, THC, THCA, CBG, and CBN.

CBD

It goes without saying that the level of CBD will be your main concern when reading a lab test report. The CBD content is fairly easy to read, and it is usually listed in mg/g or displayed in percentages. Of course, the more CBD, the stronger the oil, but there are also other factors that can impact the efficacy and potency of your product, such as bioavailability or ingestion method.

More concentrated CBD oil is better for people who need a greater influx of phytocannabinoids and but cannot absorb that much liquid.

Other Cannabinoids

Like we said, CBD can be accompanied by a range of other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Based on the above, I am going to distinguish three types of CBD-infused products:

Isolates, which are often referred to as pure CBD. As you may have guessed, a CBD isolate contains nothing but Cannabidiol. No terpenes, no other cannabinoids – 100% of CBD.

BROAD-spectrum extracts. They contain a range of cannabinoids, but with no traces of THC.

FULL-spectrum extracts. They come with a wide range of cannabinoids, including THC, and a mix of terpenes. THC, however, comes in trace amounts – full spectrum h**p extracts carry less than 0.3% of THC for the US market, 0.2% for the international market.

Other cannabinoids, such as CBG, CBC, or CBN are found in CBD oil in smaller concentrations, but they still create a synergy with Cannabidiol and terpenes, which is known as the entourage effect. Often referred to as the whole-plant medicine, the entourage effect theory states that cannabinoids work together when they are in the presence of one another. Although science is scant on the entourage effect, h**p breeders and geneticists support the theory.

Microbes

Basically, it’s not advisable to have any microbes in your CBD oil, even though not all microbial organisms can cause harm to your health. If any ‘unwanted guests’ show up in the third-party report, you may want to consider changing your CBD supplier.

If you want to make sure your CBD oil is free of microbes, look for such positions as molds, salmonella, yeast, and E-coli. The result should indicate “None detected.”

Pesticides

Needless to say, a good-quality CBD product must be free of harmful pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, or growth hormones that could give rise to an array of negative side effects.

If your lab test report shows any levels of the above substances, the product is a big no-no! On the other hand, when the report confirms that your CBD oil is pesticide-free, it means your manufacturer uses a legitimate source of h**p.

Always buy CBD oil that is 100% organic and free of pesticides.

Heavy Metals

Here’s a quick list of all heavy metals detectable by a third-party CBD oil lab test.

Arsenic, with the acceptable limit of 1.5 PPM

Cadmium, with the acceptable limit of 25 PPM

Mercury, with the acceptable limit of 15 PPM

Lead, with the acceptable limit of 5 PPM

These heavy metals are known to be dangerous for human health, which makes it obvious why you would like to check for their presence in the lab report.

Toxic Solvents

As a conscious customer, you probably know that a good CBD product should be entirely solvent-free, so whenever you grab for a CBD oil lab report, look for a detailed analysis of residual solvents. They are most often used to extract CBD from h**p and turn it into the oil. However, high concentrations of chemical solvents can cause serious health issues.

Don’t know how to read CBD oil third-party lab reports for the presence of chemical solvents? Make sure the lab report confirms the lack of any forms of glycols, especially propylene glycol (PG) or polyethylene glycol (PEG). These solvents break down to formaldehyde over time, a substance that has comes with a high risk of causing cancer.

Your best bet will be to stay away from such ingredients.

Final Thoughts On How to Read CBD Oil Third-Party Lab Reports

To wrap it all up, knowing how to read CBD oil third-party lab reports is essential for separating good-quality products from rip-offs. As long as you have a full understanding of the compounds that you should be looking for in CBD oil, reading a lab report is simple like a walk in the park.

When it all comes down to it, CBD third party lab reports are pretty straightforward and simple to read as long as you know the compounds that you should be looking for, and the ones you should likely expect to find in the raw material.

At Our Firm, we test our CBD products for all of the above substances, and we always make sure that our clients are provided with detailed lab reports. In addition, we subscribe to Good Manufacturing Practices and the quality systems tied to that. This ensures that what we say on the label is indeed what is in your bottle of CBD.

Now that you know how to read CBD oil third-party lab reports, go ahead and see if your CBD oil lives up to your standards.

Are You on the fence about trying or using CBD Oil?

What are you waiting on? 🤔
👎👎
Isn’t it about time to give it a try for your ailment, big or small. YOU are worth a good try! Its rare if it doesnt work, and the only ones who it hasnt worked for are usually the ones who have long time problems and they didn't give a 2nd, or 3rd bottle the chance to see the benefits kick in for them. Most happen within the first bottle, but some problems require longer.

CBD Isolate
As CBD continues to make headlines across the globe and more people realize the tremendous benefits this non-psychoactive compound derived from h**p contains, CBD isolate is becoming increasingly more popular every day.

If you’re looking for one of the most potent forms of CBD, CBD isolate could become your new go-to. What exactly is CBD isolate, though? And why is it so beneficial?

What is CBD Isolate?
CBD isolate is a pure, crystalline powder that contains 99% pure CBD. CBD isolate contains only CBD. All the plant matter contained in the h**p plant, including oils, waxes, chlorophyll, and more are removed, offering a finished product that’s CBD and nothing more.

How is CBD Isolate Made?
In order to get CBD out of h**p, it must be extracted. CBD isolate is produced by using a bit of a more detailed extraction process of its own. CBD isolate extraction starts out like other extraction processes used to make CBD. Once the initial extraction takes place, concentrated CBD is still full of all the plant material contained in the h**p plant itself.

In order to get this ultra-pure form of isolated CBD, a purifying process follows the actual extraction process. This purification process includes filtration where all plant material is filtered out of the extract. Following filtration, the extracted oil goes through what’s known as a “winterization process” that further removes any waxes or other plant materials that were still present after filtration.

What you’re left with is a fine, white powder that is 99% pure CBD.

CBD Isolate Contains ZERO THC
While most people assume CBD doesn’t contain THC, there are still trace amounts found in CBD oil that is made using the entire h**p plant. This is known as full-spectrum CBD and can be sold legally as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC. While this minuscule amount typically isn’t enough for people to feel any psychoactive effects, it can still show up in a person’s system.

CBD isolate that offers all the benefits of CBD without a trace of THC. This isolated version of CBD is excellent for anyone who is sensitive to THC or can’t have THC show up in a drug test. Military service members, police officers, emergency first responders, and anyone else who absolutely can’t fail a drug test will find CBD offers the relief they need, without the fear of having THC in their system.

How Exactly Do You Use CBD Isolate?
Okay, you’ve picked up some CBD isolate. But what exactly are you supposed to do with this tasteless, odorless, fine white powder? The answer is…basically anything you want.
Because CBD isolate doesn’t have any taste or odor, you can use it in a variety of ways. Some of the easiest ways to get your daily dose of CBD using a CBD isolate include:

• Place it Directly Under Your Tongue: Placing CBD isolate powder directly under your tongue is, by far, the easiest way to use isolate. Hold it there for about 60 seconds. The CBD will then be delivered to the bloodstream via the mucus membranes to provide the relief you desire. CBD has no taste or odor so this shouldn’t be too uncomfortable of an experience.

• Creating Your Own CBD Oil and Custom Products: You can infuse CBD isolate into a carrier oil (for example, MCT oil, grapeseed, or olive) to create your own CBD oil that is measured precisely. This CBD oil can then be taken sublingually for desired effects.

You can also use this CBD-infused oil to cook or bake with, but keep in mind that CBD will lose its potency at higher temperatures. If you do want to cook with the CBD isolate oil you created, make sure you’re doing so at less than 350 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring you never go above 400 degrees. CBD isolate heated any higher will lose most of its benefits.

CBD isolate can also be mixed with skin oils to create a topical that can be used on sore muscles or to ease inflammation and joint or arthritis pain. One of our favorites to use is a base of coconut oil touching-topical-lotion

• Mix it in Your Morning Juice or Smoothie: One of the easiest ways to use CBD isolate is by adding it to a glass of juice or a smoothie. It will blend seamlessly with your liquid, offering an extra boost of benefits to an already healthy way to start the day.

• Try it in Coffee or Tea: If juice or smoothies aren’t your thing, CBD isolate will work just as good when mixed with your morning cup of coffee or tea.

• Make a CBD Sweetener: Another popular method of using CBD isolate involves making it into sort of a sweetener, though as we mentioned above CBD should be tasteless. To make your own CBD “sweetener”, heat up honey or agave in a double boiler (or something similar), and then mix in your CBD isolate until thoroughly dissolved. Use this infused sweetener on top of toast, in your tea or coffee, or even by the spoonful.

Final Thoughts on CBD Isolate
Keep in mind that CBD isolate is 99% pure. A gram of CBD isolate will typically contain over 990 milligrams of CBD. This means that for every one milligram of powder, you’re essentially getting one milligram of CBD. This makes it easier than ever to measure precise dosages and know exactly how much CBD you’re getting every time you use it.

While it might have seemed intimidating at first, there’s nothing to worry about. CBD isolate is actually one of the most versatile ways to use CBD that exists. Now that you know exactly what it is and how to use it, you can consider integrating CBD isolate into your regular wellness routine

The endocanabinoid system and homeostasis.🌿

Homeostasis means to maintain an internal balance which isn't the easiest thing to do nowadays as we continually battle with our external environment.

Be it heat, food or stress, something is always looking to knock us out of balance.

For example when it comes to regulating our internal. Body temperature. The control centre for temperature is a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. It detects change in temperature and responds accordingly to maintain balance and our optimal temperature of 37 degrees.

By using receptors found on the skin and in the body the hypothalamus can act like a thermostat by sensing any changes and responding to them accordingly. When temperatures rise our body begins to sweat to promote heat loss and when temperatures drop our body reduces heat loss.

This is just one example of a homeostatic process that's constantly taking place in our body.

If we take a look at where the cannabinoid receptors are, they're very concentrated around our vital organs which play a big role in our health.

Growing research shows us that the endocanabinoid system is involved in managing pain, inflammation, immune response, metabolism, appetite, memory, mood and emotion and much more.

It's incredible to imagine as to why this complex physiological system called the endocanabinoid system is present in all mammals and plays a large role in managing various homeostatic processes.

Over the past 100 years however exogenous cannabinoids (found in the h**p and cannabis plant) which were very present in our diet before, were banned which may have led to our endocanabinoid systems to function less optimally.

This can be reflected in the rise of disease over the same period of time which has skyrocketed. Especially as our environment has gotten more unnatural.

The key takeaway is to make sure that we all have a well functioning endocannabinoid system to ensure homeostasis.🌿

BioPrime™ Nanoparticle CBD Delivery Technology

Introducing BioPrime™ nanoparticle CBD delivery technology by Vitality Health CBD.

A BioPrime™ nanoparticle is a much smaller version of a particle that has been achieved through a series of complex proprietary processes in which the original particle has been refined down to a mere fraction of it’s original size.

BioPrime™ nanoparticulization has a major effect on how our bodies absorb, break down and process Cannabidiol / CBD. Once the CBD particle has been reduced in size to sub 300 nanometers it takes on some very unique characteristics when compared to its former macro particle version of itself.

CBD nanoparticles

BioPrime™ nanoparticle CBD molecules are so small that they have the ability to pass through cellular structures such as the blood brain barrier which under normal circumstances would not be possible.

BioPrime™ nanoparticle CBD also allows for direct absorption into the blood stream making BioPrime™ CBD up to 100X more bioavailable over competing macro particle CBD.

BioPrime™ CBD nanoparticles delivered sublingually bypass the stomach and liver preventing what is referred to as “denaturation”, a process in which the body’s natural chemical breakdown of the CBD destroys up to 90% of the Cannabidiol / CBD before it can be processed. (For example, a 25mg macro particle CBD dose will equate to as little as 2.5mg after denaturation occurs
