Today's Water Tip! 💧
Do you think drinking water will only make you have to visit the bathroom more often? Do you have the feeling of having to go all the time and are worried drinking more water will make this feeling worse?
This is actually far from the truth! My great friend and pelvic health specialist, Sari Uretsky, says the feeling of having to go all the time is called “Urgency” and it can be made worse by NOT drinking enough water! The nerves in your bladder can be irritated by urine that is concentrated with waste products. These nerves will tell your brain you need to p*e. If you increase your water intake, you can dilute your urine and the nerves will settle down. You will be able to fill your bladder with more water before having the feeling you need to go. Who knew?? More great reasons to get that water into you!
On a side note...If you are leaking urine when you feel you need to go or when you cough or sneeze, you may also have a weak pelvic floor. If you have more questions you can always message Sari at Uretsky Physiotherapy is a wealth of knowledge
