Alberta’s own Kasey Aiello — a proud member of the Northern Lights and Wheelchair Sports Alberta — is set to hit the court with Team Canada’s Women’s Wheelchair Rugby Program! 🇹🇩

Kasey brings so much more than talent to the game — she brings leadership, mentorship, and passion that inspire athletes across Alberta. Her commitment to growing wheelchair rugby in our province has helped open doors for new players, empower women in sport, and strengthen our entire community.

As she represents Canada on the world stage, we couldn’t be prouder to have her carry Alberta’s spirit and determination with her to Prague!

Let’s cheer her on as she continues to make an impact both at home and abroad!

Alberta’s own Kim Payzant and Kasey Aiello will be competing in Prague. Congratulations to all athletes from across Canada that will be competing.

The North is lighting the way. 🌌

Wheelchair Rugby Canada is proud to announce the roster for Canada’s Northern Lights, set to compete at RugbyMania 2025 in Prague, Czechia. This historic appearance will mark the first time in wheelchair rugby’s history that a national organization has entered a women’s team in an international mixed-gender competition.🏐

These athletes are trailblazers, paving the way for greater gender equity in the sport and inspiring the next generation of players around the world.

The Accessibility Funding Grant is here to support persons with spinal cord injuries across Alberta who are experiencing financial hardship and need assistance to adapt and adjust in their communities.

Established in 2024 through the R. Vance Milligan Memorial Fund, this program is proudly administered by The Alberta Paraplegic Foundation (APF) in partnership with Spinal Cord Injury Alberta.
