What’s the biggest relationship lie you’ve been told?

For me, it was that relationships have to be 50/50.
Not every relationship will be 50/50. There are times it will be 80/20, 60/40, even 90/10.

You’re both going to have good days and bad days. What matters is knowing the other person is there to help—knowing that when you can’t be at full capacity, your partner will help lift you up.

This is a blue-collar household.

It means cancelled plans, long hours, work boots and clothes left on the floor, lunch pails and grime.

Both my boys are blue collar—like father, like son.

Today we’re in the midst of a snowstorm, about 20 + cm on top of what we’ve already been getting daily. I’m not complaining—we need the moisture, and I truly love the snow.

But with blue collar love, It’s the simple things.

Shoveling a path so when they get home—late, tired, cold, and in the dark—they don’t have to walk through snow just to reach the house. They won’t have to worry about starting something to plow us out or clearing a way in before they can finally rest.

Blue-collar love isn’t loud, its quiet:
It’s “Do you need anything from the store?”
It’s filling up your gas tank.
It’s jumping up to drive you to the hospital because your best friends were in an accident, and he knows you won’t settle until you’ve seen them. Tonight when they get, they will most likely give us crap for doing this but i know they will appreciate it.

I used to think love was grand gestures.
Now I’ll take a million little things.

Because that’s what love truly is❤️
