Child-led therapy has totally changed my practice. It feels weird sometimes because it doesn't feel like the way I was taught to do "therapy" in school. I often feel like I'm not planning enough, teaching enough, doing enough. However, when my students tell me that the time they spend in our groups are the highlight of their week or when a student actually engages with you after ignoring every other adult in the room, I know child-led is the way to go. Again and again, my students show that authentic connection is THE most important thing to them.

Has soccer EVER worked out well at recess? I called it "soccer, the game of sadness" because of how many problems there typically are during a recess. I help coach teachers and students around the three parts of play (set-up, play, clean up) to help everyone's brain be of the same page.

I also talk about how there are so many different ways to play soccer so it's super duper important to talk about what you mean when you say "let's play soccer!" and every way to play is totally valid!
