This is your annual reminder that everyone in Alberta needs to take supplemental Vitamin D.

Vitamin D supports bone health, hormones, mental health, and nervous system health.

Even if you stand outside naked, you are not making Vitamin D from October to May, people - just take your daily supplement!

Congratulations to this amazing human! Give if you can ♥️

To preserve blueberries, the First Nations boil them for an hour or more, until they are thick. The heat should be very low and no sugar should be used, only a little water which should be added a little at a time. When the fruits form a paste, they are placed in an envelope-shaped birch bark container and left to dry in the sun. Sometimes the berries could also be smoked.
Blueberry paste keeps for years and never loses its flavor or color. All berries can be stored in this way except strawberries.

Back to School = Back to Routine!

Take advantage of the change to build in some healthy meal planning, start with one recipe a week using all (or mostly) things from your freezer & pantry. Stick with this and build up to three recipes a week for a long lasting habit 🚌✏️✂️🍽️

I second this call to cancel AISH clawback.

$200 would help those on AISH to purchase healthy food which is a basic human right that current AISH allowance does not provide.

This is unfair and not helping our most vulnerable people nor our society.

"Fatty fish, such as salmon and mackerel, are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, particularly DHA, which is crucial for brain function. Omega-3s have been shown to enhance learning, memory, and overall cognitive well-being.

Additionally, they may help mitigate Alzheimer’s disease risk, especially for those with high stress exposure. Aim to include fatty fish in your diet a couple of times a week."
