These chocolate chip protein muffins have 14g of protein each! Theyโ€™re also rich in healthy fats.

INGREDIENTS

3/4 cup Vanilla Protein Powder
1/2 cup Almond Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp sea Salt
1/2 cup All Natural Peanut Butter
3 Banana (mashed)
2 tbsps Maple Syrup
3/4 cup Dark Chocolate Chips

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line a muffin tray with liners or grease muffin tray with butter.

In a large bowl, whisk together the protein powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the peanut butter, banana, and maple syrup and stir with a spatula until combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.Divide the batter evenly between muffin cups. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until firm to the touch and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let the muffins cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes before removing and transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely. Enjoy!

A good approach to supporting underactive adrenals starts with nervous system care and stress management.

Hereโ€™s how to help your body recover:

๐ŸŒฟ Nourish your body. Focus on a wholesome diet rich in B vitamins, healthy fats, and protein. Reduce sugar and processed foods that can spike stress hormones.

๐ŸŒฟ Rest and recharge. Prioritize quality sleep, take short breaks during the day, and allow yourself to slow down without guilt.

๐ŸŒฟ Move mindfully. Gentle exercise like yoga, Pilates, or walking helps regulate cortisol. Add strength training when your energy allows.

๐ŸŒฟ Soothe your system. Try deep breathing, meditation, or a warm Epsom salt bath to calm your nervous system.

๐ŸŒฟ Think positive. Your mindset directly affects your stress response. Small shifts in thought can create big changes in how your body feels.

I thought being fit meant being healthyโ€ฆ until my body told me otherwise.

Training for the Canadian Death Race pushed me to my limits, but it also pushed my thyroid past its breaking point. What followed was exhaustion, brain fog, and a deep sense that something wasnโ€™t right.

Thatโ€™s when I decided to stop fighting my body and start listening to it.

โ€˜This is how my holistic journey to adrenal fatigue recovery began.โ€™

Let me tell you about my personal experience with hormone imbalances.

I am an ultra-runner. In 2014, I trained for and completed the Canadian Death Race as a solo runner. The Canadian Death Race, is a 125 kilometre foot race through the Canadian rocky mountains in Grande-Cache, Alberta. It includes three mountain summits, one major river crossing and 17,000 feet elevation changes.

In order to run that race, I was training full time for 10 months, while working a full time job as a pharmacist and taking care of my family.

While training, I started to experience signs and symptoms of adrenal fatigue such as brain fog, irritability, constant fatigue, anxiety and trouble with sleep. After the race, the same symptoms amplified and new ones appeared such as palpitations, shortness of breath and I started to get injured all the time. Running was becoming more of a struggle than a passion.
