Hip Flip RPO Drill 🎯
This is how we train a QB’s base and release the same way it shows up in RPOs.
W-shaped cone setup. QBs are constantly moving while staying in their hips, maintaining a balanced base, and flipping efficiently around each cone.
Two targets, two names.
Here we went “Dog” or “Cat.”
As soon as they hear it, they flip their hips, set their hallway, and deliver the throw. Efficient movement. React and throw.
Think about any RPO you call and the base required to make that throw.
In Canadian football, some of those RPOs are big throws.
You still need to be accurate. This is a great drill to get immediate visual feedback on mechanics.
Simple. Easy daily work for:
• balance
• hip speed
• accuracy
