✨ Seasonal Depression: What You Need to Know & What You Can Do ✨

As the days get shorter, many people experience a shift in mood, energy, and motivation.
This isn’t “just the winter blues” — it may be Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a form of depression that follows a seasonal pattern. 💛

🌧️ What You Need to Know:

• It’s linked to reduced sunlight, which affects mood-regulating chemicals in the brain
• Common symptoms include low energy, sadness, oversleeping, cravings for carbs, and withdrawal from activities
• It’s more common in fall and winter, but some people experience it in spring or summer too
• It is treatable and nothing to be ashamed of

🌤️ What You Can Do
• Prioritize sunlight exposure (morning light is best!)
• Build a steady routine—sleep, meals, movement
• Stay socially connected, even when it feels hard
• Try light therapy if recommended
• Talk to a mental health professional for tailored tools and support
