For those of us trained in Vestibular Rehab, the use of vestibular goggles is essential. Without them, we would not be able to do our work effectively. Both Alice and Albert Chan have Advanced Vestibular Certifications in Vestibular Rehab from the University of Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh program is only 1 of 2 Advanced certifications in the world. We are both passionate about treating patients with dizziness. Both Alice and Albert are certified in the management of concussion and vestibular conditions.

This is part 2 of Elizabeth's strength progression for proximal hamstring injuries. See our February 2nd post for part 1. Progressing exercises is an essential component of building strength and resiliency in muscle and tendon injuries. It's never a one-size-fits-all approach. Should you be concerned if your jaw clicks? A sudden onset of new clicking especially if it causes a reduction in the movement of your jaw or if it is associated with pain should be assessed quickly. Disc displacements and injuries can be challenging to resolve. The sooner we can address the issue, the better we can prevent the disc from displacing further. When in doubt, seek the advice and consultation of your dental specialist or Physiotherapist with special training in TMJ disorders as soon as possible!

Being runners ourselves, we understand the challenges of running-related injuries. In this video, Elizabeth Clark shares her experience with a high hamstring injury while training for the Boston Marathon. Isometric exercises are often under-valued and under-utilized as a great adjunct to isokinetic exercises to strengthen tendons. Be sure to watch future episodes to see how this exercise can be scaled and progressed as the running athlete progresses in their rehab!
