Last Friday at National Philanthropy Day, we were honoured to celebrate Sharon Bell, our Lead Donor for the 6th Annual Promise of Home Fundraising Campaign – Called to Care, as she received a well-deserved award for her extraordinary commitment to the Canterbury community.
For Sharon, Canterbury is family. Her connection began when her grandmother became a resident and continued as both her parents made Canterbury their home — with her father still residing with us today. These deeply personal experiences reflect the heart of this year’s campaign: answering every call for compassionate, person-centered care.
As our Lead Donor, Sharon is helping launch a campaign that invests in the very supports that make Canterbury feel like home — ensuring every resident has timely access to care, comfort, safety, and connection. Through her leadership on our Quality Committee and her unwavering advocacy for philanthropy, she is shaping a future where every senior can age with dignity, meaning, and joy.
