Keeping our hands and minds active is important at every stage of life. 🧩
Our Life Enrichment team recently set up a Fine Motor Skills Table for residents to explore throughout the day. Activities like sorting, stacking, pinching, and manipulating small objects help support hand strength, coordination, and dexterity skills that play an important role in everyday tasks like buttoning clothing, writing, and using utensils.
In later years, exercises that support fine motor skills can also help stimulate the brain, encourage focus, and promote a sense of independence and confidence. Most importantly, they offer a simple and engaging way for residents to stay active while enjoying meaningful moments of connection and accomplishment.
It’s just one of the many ways our team supports wellness, engagement, and quality of life each day at Canterbury. 💙
