Yesterday’s Kelly’s Kitchen was a hit. Our residents joined in for a live cooking show featuring a Valentine’s-themed dessert: Sweet Marie Bars.

Plenty of smiles (and a few cravings) as we shared fun Valentine’s Day facts while putting the recipe together. A simple, relaxed afternoon with good conversation and a very sweet ending.

In Canada, nearly 1 in 5 seniors feel lonely, and 30% are at risk of isolation. That’s why living in a community like Canterbury matters.
Through shared meals, activities, and everyday moments, our residents build friendships that brighten each day and create a true sense of belonging.

Seeing them lift each other up, share a laugh, or offer a quiet hug reminds us that connection isn’t just nice, it makes life whole. 💛

When Support Becomes a Strength

Needing extra support is not a failure, it’s a natural part of life’s transitions.

Senior living today is about:
• Safety and peace of mind
• Community and connection
• Individualized support that adapts over time

January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, and we are honoured to share a powerful story submitted by the daughter of one of our former residents.

Her mother’s legacy lives on through her wish to give back, by donating her organs and contributing to scientific research that helps advance understanding, care, and hope for future generations.

This story is a reminder that even in the hardest journeys, there is purpose, compassion, and impact.

Together, we can raise awareness, support families, and continue the important work toward a world without Alzheimer’s.

💜 Read the full story and learn “How to Participate in Alzheimer’s Research” in our January newsletter.
