-Job description-
We deliver essential medical services to a wide range of companies and help to protect and support workers in remote oil field, pipeline and industrial settings. A day in the life of a primary care paramedic requires courage and compassion; facing diverse and interesting situations where you directly affect people?s lives by your actions.
Location: Various Locations across Alberta (client sites in remote oil field, pipeline and/or industrial settings). Dispatched and Orientation from our Sherwood, AB office.
Duration: Various, depending on project/client site.
Hours: Typically, 12 hour shifts, day and/or nights
Primary Duties/ Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Provide a quick response to medical emergencies in an industrial setting
Assess and attend to patients' injuries; determine a course of treatment
Provide first-aid or support to injured workers
Effectively communicate status and next steps of the injured worker to emergency services
Clean and decontaminate vehicles (mobile treatment center) and/or clinic area and maintain areas in a state of operational/medical readiness
Ensure all reporting and communication requirements are adhered to regarding incidents, injuries and treatment
Maintain confidential patient medical documentation and reports as per governing body requirements
-Personal Characteristics-
Highly skilled and well known for bringing order to chaos; especially when patients are scared, in pain or shock from an injury.
Caring yet take control type of personality. The ability to take a calm and logical approach to emergency situations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Functional knowledge of computer operations, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Effectively organize and prioritize situations and activities ranging from urgent patient care issues to routine office and clinic duties
Reliable, dependable, and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment
