Cartoon Duke here to talk about OCD. Maybe this sounds familiar. “Wait… what if I left the stove on?” You already checked. You know it’s off…but it doesn’t feel certain. So you go back and check again. And again. For a moment, the anxiety drops. But it always comes back. That’s the OCD cycle! It’s not really about the stove, it’s about the need to feel completely certain. What ERP does: instead of checking again, you leave, you feel the anxiety, and you don’t fix it. At first, it feels worse. That’s expected. But then something important happens: the anxiety comes down on its own. Over time, your brain learns you don’t need to check to feel okay. ERP helps you build the ability to tolerate uncertainty, because OCD feeds on the need for certainty. If this is something you struggle with, you’re not alone and it’s very treatable. Today was Joshua's last day. He spent two semesters observing sessions, participating in the private practice and presenting weekly instagram posts. He is incredibly grateful to all the clients that allowed him to observe and learn from, to hear people's stories and be trusted with their struggles and emotions. We at horizon wish him the best as he continues his academic journey! Thank you for your help!!

Josh here to remind you that big swings in temperature (hello Alberta weather) can increase inflammation, joint stiffness, headaches, and overall fatigue.
When your body is already working to regulate itself, these shifts can push it into a more reactive state — especially if you live with chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, or stress.
Instead of pushing through, this is a time to work with your body, not against it.
A few supportive strategies:
• Gentle movement (walking, stretching, mobility work)
• Mindfulness or breathing exercises to calm the nervous system
• Staying warm and hydrated
• Lowering intensity rather than skipping movement entirely
Even 10–20 minutes of intentional, low-impact movement can help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and ease aches and pains.
Your body isn’t failing you, it’s adapting. The goal is to support it through the transition.

1 in 15 people have an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases happen when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own healthy tissues. There are over 80 different autoimmune conditions, and many people live with symptoms that others can’t see. Fatigue, pain, brain fog, and inflammation.
Because many autoimmune illnesses are invisible, people often go years without diagnosis or feel misunderstood by those around them.
Awareness helps change that.
The more we talk about autoimmune illness, the more we create space for earlier diagnosis, better support, and compassion for people living with chronic conditions.
If you or someone you love lives with an autoimmune condition, you’re not alone.

Tired after two long days at a convention, not much of a voice and when thinking of work at first I was annoyed but when I got here there was a gorgeous sun-bow, rabbit prints in the snow, a chill fat bunny and my mood lightened. I took a moment to take it all in before starting the day.
