Cornerstone Counselling

Cornerstone Counselling Our goal is to improve the mental health of our Edmonton communities by providing subsidized counsel

As counselling is an important health care service that all people should have access to, we offer subsidized fees based on gross household income. We can provide services to individuals, couples, families, groups, and organizations. Specifically, we provide professional psychological services aimed at promoting wholeness of life: counselling, psychotherapy, education, assessment, and training.

Yesterday, we gathered at the Art Gallery of Alberta for REACH Edmonton’s private Tea Time Social, The Art of Connection: Tea, Tales, and Togetherness.

Events like this remind us that connection doesn’t just happen by chance. It’s built through shared stories, open dialogue, and community care.

Thank you to REACH for creating space for connection and for inviting us to be part of it.

Last night, we officially celebrated the Grand Opening of our new Mill Woods location.... and what a meaningful milestone it is for Cornerstone Counselling.

This 3,000 sq. ft., purpose-built space inside the Covenant Health Community Wellness Centre marks an exciting new chapter in our 48-year journey of serving individuals and families across Edmonton. With this expansion, we’re increasing access to affordable mental health services in southeast Edmonton and creating more room for healing, growth, and connection.

We were honoured to celebrate alongside community leaders, partners, supporters, and friends, including Mayor Andrew Knack and Christina Gray, who recognize the importance of accessible mental health care in our city.

To our Board of Directors, dedicated therapists, administrative team, donors, and community partners: thank you. This space exists because of your vision, generosity, and belief in the work we do.

We are so grateful to walk alongside our community; serving secular and faith-based clients, as we continue creating spaces where hope and healing can flourish.

Here’s to the next chapter.

As Lent begins, this season invites us to pause 🤍, reflect 💭, and focus 🌿 on renewal both spiritually and mentally. Taking time for self-reflection and personal growth can be a powerful step toward healing and well-being.

Let this be a reminder to care for your mind, heart, and soul.

📚 Reading Corner | Staff Pick

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’re highlighting a powerful resource for couples ❤️

Our Canadian Certified Counsellor, Erica Boschman, recommends Love Sense: The Revolutionary New Science of Romantic Relationships by Dr. Sue Johnson. This book is a foundational read based on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

This book helps couples:
• Understand the science of attachment
• Recognize negative relationship patterns
• Strengthen emotional bonds
• Build lasting connection and security

If you’re looking to deepen your relationship or better understand the dynamics of love, this is a meaningful place to start.

Have you read Love Sense? Or is there a book that’s impacted your relationships? Let us know!

We had such a great time at 's HUB Youth Summit last week at the Castledowns YMCA!

Our team loved connecting with youth and families, sharing mental health resources, handing out free goodies, and playing a lot of Connect 4.

Thank you for creating a space that supports youth wellness, connection, and growth in our community.

If you’d like to learn more about how Cornerstone Counselling supports children, youth, and families, we’d love to connect.
