This Dietitians Day, we’re highlighting something that sits at the heart of dietetic practice: a personal commitment to evidence-based care.
In a world of nutrition marketing that often turns normal human experiences into problems to be fixed, dietitians play an essential role in offering trusted guidance rooted in science, compassion, and context.
In tomorrow's episode of A Plateful of Insights, we explore how nutrition marketing creates doubt, builds distrust, and sells certainty — and why evidence-based care matters more than ever.
During Nutrition Month, the theme Nourish to Flourish is a reminder that food is about more than fuel. It connects us to our health, our communities, and ourselves. Dietitians help people navigate that with clarity and care.

“Inflammation” gets blamed for everything online, but what does it actually mean?
When nutrition advice starts sounding vague, fear-based, or overly simple, that’s usually a sign to pause and look closer.
Pain, fatigue, low energy, and feeling “off” are real experiences and inflammation is a real process in the body. But labelling everything as inflammation, without context, does not help people make informed choices. Instead, it can foster fear and anxiety while also overlooking actual potential causes of symptoms.
What the most confusing or overused nutrition term you keep seeing online lately?

In Part 2 of our conversation on obesity and weight management, our team at Revive Wellness continues the discussion around treatment options, including weight loss medications, and what supportive, sustainable care can look like.
This is a very open and candid conversation and goes far beyond willpower, dieting, or simply “trying harder."
It is important to acknowledge the reality that obesity is complex and that these conversations can, and sometimes should, include accurate information on where medications fit.

Our next podcast episode might surprise you, coming from a group of dietitians.
We spend our careers helping people improve their health through nutrition, lifestyle habits, and behaviour change. But in this upcoming episode of A Plateful of Insights, we have a very candid conversation about something that isn’t talked about enough:
Why lifestyle changes alone don’t always solve everything and how medications can be a reasonable aspect of chronic disease management, including obesity management.
Full episode dropping tomorrow.

Today is and we're starting an important conversation.
Many people believe that weight loss should be simple. Or that people simply need to choose to eat less. But this is not how it works.
Factors like our brains, hormones, environment, stress, sleep, and food noise can all influence how and why we eat.

In our newest episode of A Plateful of Insights, our team explores the science behind obesity and why knowledge alone isn’t enough to change behaviour.
Most importantly, this conversation is about moving away from blame and toward understanding, compassion, and evidence-based care.
