We fear change.

There’s something quietly magical about holding many roles at once — not because it’s glamorous, but because it’s human. The way the personal and the professional braid together to shape what we have to offer.

If you’re new here, welcome. This is a space for myth and meaning, therapy and storytelling, pop culture and archetypes, grief and growth.

It’s magic — but the grounded kind.

Whether you’re here for goddess wisdom, full moon worship, pop culture podcast snippets, inspiration from my books, or in the hopes of a future counselling or tarot session with me, I’m sure you’ll find something you need here.

On my podcast Popcorn Therapy, I’ve explored films and cultural moments like Splash, The Little Mermaid, Return to Oz, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and other narratives where women and girls stand at the centre of the myth (or don't, but should, like in Buffalo '66).

These episodes look beyond nostalgia. We talk about archetypes, longing, rebellion, transformation, power, and what these stories quietly taught us about being female-presenting in the world.

If you enjoy revisiting pop culture through a feminist, mythic lens, you can listen to Popcorn Therapy with Julie Peters wherever you get your podcasts.

Demeter and Persephone is a story about love — but also about separation, grief, descent, and return.

In this guided meditation on , we sit with the myth not as a fairy tale, but as a living pattern. The mother who mourns. The daughter who crosses into darkness. The cycle of life, death, and renewal that shapes the seasons — and our own inner lives.

Some parts of us descend. Some parts wait. And some parts return in their own time.

You can listen to the full meditation, Persephone and Demeter: Goddesses of Life and Death, on Insight Timer.

We often replay childhood dynamics in adult relationships, hoping to heal old wounds in new ways. Ending one relationship doesn’t always change the pattern — unless something shifts within.

Counselling creates space to understand where those cycles began and how to move differently, with more awareness and choice.

Counselling sessions available in person in Edmonton at OR virtually from anywhere.

For Women’s History Month, I’m thinking about Asherah — a Canaanite goddess from what is now known as Palestine, whose presence was gradually erased from the Biblical record.

Historical and archaeological evidence suggests that Asherah was once widely revered as a powerful mother figure and divine consort in ancient Levantine religion. Over time, as religious systems consolidated power, her name and worship were suppressed and written out of sacred texts.

What does it mean when a goddess is removed from the story?

In my book, "Witch, Healer, Priestess, Outcast", I explore Asherah, and figures like her — women and goddesses who were revered, then diminished, and sometimes forgotten.

The difficulty of listening, whether to our real live best friends or to our own selves, is learning not to interject with judgment or advice before the other has finished talking.

When I meditate, I do focus on my breath, not in order to shush my thoughts, but to stay present with how I feel in my body as my thoughts run around. If I feel the urge to interrupt myself by planning, judging, or analyzing, I refocus on how it feels to breathe with the thoughts, not against them. I try to receive, rather than direct, my thoughts and feelings.

Do you meditate? If so, how do you do it?

Are you ready to get down and dirty to tap into the energy of the full Worm Moon?

The energy of this moment is very much about moving out of the frozen, hibernated mood of the cold winter and starting to allow things to shift. Full moons are generally about looking back and then letting go. We may begin to feel something thawing within ourselves—new energy, new ideas, or old emotions that are newly arising, ready to be processed.

So...what is thawing in you?
