November is Diabetes Awareness Month, observed around the world to raise awareness & promote action! 💙 Diabetic eye disease is a common complication of diabetes, and is the leading cause of vision impairment in working-aged adults. At GHF, we work to mitigate these complications using in-house technology that assists in early detection of change, and communication with other allied health care providers.

The Optomap (shown below) offers an ultra wide field of view of the retina - and plays into our role of screening, detection, diagnosis and treatment of all eye disease - including related to diabetes. GHF includes a series of Optomap images in all of our Standard Eye Exams for everyone ages 9 and older! 🙏 Call or text us today to book your annual eye exam, and you will see this incredible tool used first hand! 🤗

Lennox has us dreaming of warmer sunnier days! 🌷☀️ It may be getting a little brisk out there and dark at 5PM but Lennox is keeping summer alive all year round! 😎⛱ We had so much fun helping Lennox at the shop and these colourful cat-eye frames match their bright and sunny energy perfectly! ✨ You look amazing!! 🌺

Burgundy is having a moment this fall and we are here for it! 🏆 A monochromatic frame and tint combo is such a serve!🟤🟤 The tint you prefer looking through is personal preference but we encourage you to branch out and try an unconventional colour! 👯‍♂️

Some of our recent favourites have been baby blue🌐, baby pink 🌸, mint green🍈, lavender💜 and this delicious burgundy!!! We highly recommend having a look through all our specialty tints next time you’re in the shop!! 👀

Siri is channeling her inner Trinity in these Matrix coded sunnies! 🖥 Now considered a “vintage” style from 1999 - these frames still serve up a spacey futuristic vibe! 🪐🛸 We love that this throwback shape is making a powerful comeback!👏👏 In the wise words of Mr Morpheus “Don’t think you are. KNOW you are!” And Siri we KNOW you look incredible in these! ✨

Can’t decide between two frames? 🤔 Maybe getting both is an option! 👯‍♂️ Marta fell in love with two VERY different frames and just could NOT decide! 👁‍🗨🧐 A matte navy cat-eye and a lovely modern red pair were the two winners!!!! 🏆🥇🥇 Marta was able to bring them both home with our additional pair discount! 🏡 We love them BOTH on you Marta!! You look amazing! 🌟

Let’s talk texture - or at least the illusion of texture! 🐆The fall collections are rolling in and we are loving all the unique and unusual patterns on the new frames! 🦄 From wicker to cobblestone, there are some beauties in the bunch! 🤯 We can’t wait for you to see all the new frames - and perhaps add a little flair with a glasses chain from local maker ⛓🦄💖

START THE CAR!!!! 🚗💨 The new frames are here and we are LOVING all the new shapes and colours! 🤓 The Glasses Half Full crew had a blast for our fall photo shoot/marketing day last Friday! 📸 The weather was great, the vibes were high and the frames were banging!! ☀️💥 This brand new shape from one of our Canadian brands has us feeling nostalgic in the best way! 🇨🇦

Our Story

Glasses Half Full was created with the belief that optometry should be more affordable, easygoing, and fun – while still offering thorough and attentive eyecare services. And we hope that when you come visit us on 124th Street, we can make this connection with you too!

In our optical, all of our glasses are made exclusively by small design companies and independent brands. We believe in supporting innovators in the eyewear industry, and also bringing you better value when you shop for fashion glasses. As optometrists, we want to innovate optometry, while continuing to promote the importance of eyecare in the modern world – including through our relationships with our patients, and through our community programs like our Pair-for-a-Pair NGO partnership program.

We take inspiration from traditional eyecare and online optical retail, and we hope to strike the right balance – offering you & your family a new take on optometry that is thorough, interactive, and convenient.
