Hi, I’m Rita at Albany Cosmetic and Laser Center, and here’s what’s in the HydraFacial solutions we use—quick and clear.

First, Activ-4 is your cleanse and prep step. It includes water, urea, glucosamine, seaweed and yeast extracts, plus lactic acid and vitamin E.
Oh—don’t be scared of urea! It’s used in so many strong moisturizing products.

Next, the Extract solution is designed for pore decongestion. It contains glycerin, salicylic acid, willow bark, lactic acid, and antioxidant-supporting ingredients like vitamin C and vitamin E, along with botanical extracts such as apple, peach, and raspberry.

Beta-HD can refer to a similar extraction formula—often featuring salicylic acid and willow bark—or the clarifying Beta-HD Clear, which highlights honey extract and botanical clarifiers. ̇al

Neuromodulators—such as Botox Cosmetic—are medications made from botulinum toxin and work by relaxing specific muscles. That softens dynamic wrinkles, meaning lines that show up when you move, such as Frown lines, Forehead, and crow’s feet. By the way, Botox is only one of several brands available in Canada—others include Dysport, Xeomin, and Nuceiva, and each can produce similar wrinkle‑relaxing results but may differ slightly in formulation, onset, diffusion, spread, and dosing units.
Results start in 3–7 days, peak around 2 weeks, and typically last 3–4 months.”

Hyaluronic acid fillers are gels that add volume and provide support. They’re best for static lines and shaping—think contour, structure, and hydration. Famous brands are Juvederm, Revanesse, and Restylane.
With fillers, you will see results immediately, and they often last 6–18 months, depending on the area and product.
How to choose between them
If it’s caused by movement—neuromodulator. If it’s volume loss—HA filler. And many patients do best with a combination: relax, then restore.
