March is and we're celebrating the important work of PCN social workers. 💚 This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Association of Social Workers and recognizes the profession’s lasting impact and evolving role in care.

PCN social workers can help you find resources for:

This workshop is for adults who have difficulty controlling their emotions or feel that their behaviour is causing chaos in their life. This workshop might be for you if your emotions are affecting your work and personal relationships.

During this workshop, you’ll learn to handle your responses to strong emotions like frustration, shame, guilt, anger, and disappointment. A facilitator will help you understand how emotions affect our behaviour, how to challenge negative thinking and build tolerance to distress, and how to add mindfulness techniques to your everyday life.

Workshop Details:
This 8-week workshop takes place once per week on Thursdays from 6:15 pm to 8:15 pm. EMR-Cs work with our primary care providers, clinic office staff, primary care managers, multidisciplinary team members, and others to support EMR optimization initiatives. They're a valuable member of our quality improvement team, supporting ESPCN member clinics and their practice populations.

February is Heart Health Month ❤️

Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death in Canada, but many risk factors can be managed with early action.

Prevention starts with awareness. Take a moment to check in on your heart health and connect with your primary care team. Your primary care provider can refer you to a PCN registered nurse, registered dietitian, behavioural health consultant, exercise specialist, or social worker for more support and proactive strategies tailored to your health goals.
