Happy Groundhog Day!
Every February 2nd, we turn to our favourite furry forecasters to see if winter is sticking around or if spring is on the way. The tradition goes all the way back to old European Candlemas folklore, where people believed an animal’s shadow could predict the weather, and somehow we are still trusting groundhogs! In Canada, that means watching legends like Wiarton Willie, Shubenacadie Sam, Balzac Billy, Fred la Marmotte, Manitoba Merv, Van Island Violet, Okanagan Okie, Oil Springs Ollie, Fenwick Flossie, Middlemiss Mike, Chilly Charlie, Two Rivers Tunnel, and a few other local celebs pop up across the country. So… shadow or no shadow...what’s your guess? 🌨️➡️🌷

🎤 Practitioner Spotlight: Shari Black - Get to Know Me!

Q: Where did you complete your school training?
A: Northumberland, Nova Scotia.

Q: Why did you choose to become a massage therapist?
A: As a competitive swimmer, massage was always a big part of my recovery. Experiencing firsthand how much it helped my performance and well being inspired me to pursue it as a career.

Q: What inspires you most about your work?
A: The satisfaction of being able to help relieve someone’s pain and improve how they feel in their body.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
A: I’ve spent the past 10 years travelling and exploring Asia. Now, I’m excited to start exploring Western Canada with my Hong Kong village dog, Gary 🐾

Q: What are your favourite conditions to treat?
A: Pre- and post-natal massage, ballet dancers, swimmers, runners, and ankle and shoulder injuries.
