At Vitae Fertility, we teach the Marquette Method. It's easy to learn, highly effective, and taught by RNs.

The Marquette Method is a type of Natural Family Planning which uses Clearblue Fertility Monitors to precisely track your LH and estrogen levels. Vitae Fertility Education is run by a Registered Nurse trained as an instructor of the Marquette Method of Natural Family Planning. By tracking the hormone levels in a woman's body throughout her menstrual cycle the woman is able to identify the time in her cycle in which she is fertile. She can use this information to achieve or avoid pregnancy or to track hormone imbalances she may be experiencing. The Marquette Method boasts the highest efficacy rates of the mainstream NFP methods, outranking Billings, Creighton, and Symptothermal! In regular cycles it is 99% effective at avoiding pregnancy when used with an instructor, and when used during the breastfeeding/postpartum phase it is 98% effective. The Marquette Method utilizes urinary hormone levels and can detect the fertile window more accurately than most other methods. A more accurate detection of the fertile window means less days of abstinence per cycle! In-person courses are available at this time, and online courses will be available in the next few months. Individual and group sessions are offered, with discounted rates for group sessions (5 couples or more).

After the birth of a baby, some women’s cycles can return quickly…while other women’s return to fertility takes its sweet time!

Even once you start cycling again, the first few cycles can be a bit unbalanced and raise questions you didn’t think you’d have.

Postpartum cycles can include:
👉 Delayed ovulation
👉 Unexpected bleeding
👉 Longer or irregular cycles
👉 Patterns that change as life, sleep, and stress shift

Sometimes you don’t realize you need guidance until you’re already in the middle of a confusing cycle…this is when it’s really handy (and important) to contact your instructor so you can make sense of what’s going on and know what to do next!

Mira vs Clearblue?

The answer is a little more complex, but for now, we’re still “Team Clearblue” as the standard choice.

We love a shiny new gadget, but when it comes to effectiveness - Marquette’s research was done with the Clearblue monitor. And so, when people are seeking out Marquette for its well known effectiveness rates, it’s Clearblue that we’ll recommend!

We’re currently working on Mira effectiveness rates, and once Marquette’s Mira effectiveness studies are published, we’ll let you know!

Until then, we generally recommend sticking with the proven method. There may be situations where using Mira makes sense, but that’s a decision best made with guidance. We strongly recommend chatting with one of our instructors first so you can understand whether (and why) it may or may not be the right choice for your specific situation.

Your cycle doesn’t exist in a vacuum.

💊 Medications change.
😵‍💫 Stress ebbs and flows.
🛌 Sleep patterns change.
🍼 Babies wean.

In other words…life happens.

Sometimes a cycle looks different from your usual not because something is “wrong,” but because something is happening.

❔ Bleeding before peak
❔ A peak that hasn’t shown up yet
❔ A monitor that stops asking for tests
❔ A cycle that’s suddenly longer than usual

These situations aren’t uncommon, and they’re exactly why having an instructor can really make a difference.

We look at your chart, but we also ask questions about what may be different in your life… medications, supplements, diet or exercise changes, stress or major transitions, postpartum or weaning patterns…

You don’t need to do all the interpretation on your own. That’s what your instructor is for. We’re here to help you make sense of whatever you’re seeing that’s confusing you.

🙋‍♀️ Welcome to the team Jennifer Fallon!

We’ll let her share her story:

"Hi! My name is Jennifer Fallon. I’ve been married to my husband Matt, a United States Marine, for over 17 years, and we have four sons and one daughter together.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University in 2007 and worked as a Registered Nurse primarily in Pediatrics before stepping away to care for our children during Matt’s deployments and training.

As a military family, we moved six times across the U.S. before settling in New Jersey, where we’re grateful to now be near family as Matt approaches retirement.

Despite being cradle Catholics, we had a late start with NFP. As a healthcare professional, I was taught that NFP was unreliable, and my early education focused mostly on abstinence and STDs.

Everything changed when a friend introduced me to the Marquette Method during a time of deeper reversion to our faith and shortly after my Marian Consecration.

Learning that Marquette was research-based and effective led me to Vitae Fertility, where Louise was my instructor. She made it accessible and simple, and even through breastfeeding, it worked beautifully—bringing Matt and me closer to each other and to the Lord.

After six years of practicing NFP, I felt called to help other women understand their fertility with confidence rather than fear. I’m grateful my clients trust me in this space and allow me to share what I’ve learned so they can better understand the beauty of their cycles."
