MYTH: "If it doesn't hurt, it's not helping." 🚫
TRUTH: Pain is not a badge of honor. If something hurts during exercise or treatment, your body is telling you to stop or modify. Effective rehabilitation should challenge you - not injure you.

Good pain = muscle fatigue, mild discomfort, "working" sensation
Bad pain = sharp, shooting, or pain that gets worse

Listen to your body. It's smarter than you think. πŸ’š

April is Stress Awareness Month - and here's something important: stress doesn't just mess with your mind. It literally shows up in your body. πŸ˜“
Tight shoulders? Jaw clenching? Lower back pain that won't quit? That's stress talking.

Here's how to help your body release it:
πŸ’¨ Breathe deeply - even 5 minutes makes a difference
🚢 Move daily - walk, stretch, whatever feels good
😴 Prioritize rest - your body heals when you sleep
🧘 Try progressive muscle relaxation - tense and release each muscle group

Dealing with stress-related pain that's not going away? We can help with that.

Quick question: when's the last time you actually drank water? πŸ’§

We know, we know, everyone tells you to hydrate. But here's why it actually matters for your physical health:

β†’ Dehydration makes muscles cramp and tighten
β†’ It slows down recovery and healing
β†’ It affects your energy, focus, and how your joints feel
β†’ Even mild dehydration can increase pain sensitivity
Aim for around 8 glasses a day (more if you're active). Your body (and your physio) will thank you. πŸ™Œ

Spring is almost here, and that means Edmontonians are itching to get back outside. 🌀️ But if you've been mostly indoors all winter, your body might not be quite ready for hiking, biking, or running just yet.

Here's how to ease back in:
🚢 Start slow: Don't go from couch to 10K overnight.
🧘 Stretch regularly: Tight muscles = higher injury risk.
πŸ’ͺ Strength train: Strong legs and core = better endurance and stability.
πŸ”„ Cross-train: Mix up your activities to avoid overuse injuries.

Want a personalized plan to get you spring-ready? We can help. πŸ“ž (780) 930-1331

Edmonton's weather in March is... unpredictable. β˜€οΈβ„οΈπŸŒ§οΈ One day it's melting, the next there's black ice, and your feet are confused.

Here's the thing: wearing the wrong shoes during this transition period can actually lead to slips, falls, and foot/ankle injuries. A few tips:
πŸ‘Ÿ Keep traction-ready shoes handy, it's not fully spring yet.
πŸ’§ Watch for puddles and slush, they hide uneven surfaces.
🧦 Invest in proper footwear, worn-out soles = less stability.
🦢 If your feet or ankles are sore, don't ignore it. Small issues turn into big ones.

Need help with foot or ankle pain? We've got you. πŸ“ž (780) 930-1331

Happy (Belated) Pi Day!πŸ₯§

Around here, Pi Day is kind of a big deal...
Fraser makes sure it's celebrated every year 🫑
Whether it's talking about the number Ο€, eating pie, or reminding everything that 3.14 deserves a celebration!

Because just like good physio care... Pi Day is all about balance, precision, and maybe a little bit of fun along the way!

Ever heard of vestibular infrared goggles? πŸ•ΆοΈ They sound futuristic... and honestly, they kind of are.

These high-tech goggles let us diagnose balance issues and vertigo by tracking your eye movements in the dark. That detailed data helps us pinpoint exactly what's causing your symptoms so we can treat it properly.

What they help with:
βœ”οΈ Accurate diagnosis of inner ear vs. brain-related vertigo
βœ”οΈ Identifying which canal is affected
βœ”οΈ Creating a targeted, effective treatment plan
βœ”οΈ Catching tiny eye movements that would otherwise go unnoticed

Dealing with dizziness, vertigo, or balance problems? Call us at (780) 930-1331 to learn more about how we can help. πŸŒ€
