Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is particularly helpful for people who feel stuck struggling against their thoughts and emotions, whether that's anxiety, chronic pain, depression, or life transitions. Instead of trying to control or eliminate difficult feelings, ACT helps you accept them while taking action toward what truly matters in your life.

Our trained therapists create a safe space where you can explore your experiences with mindfulness and compassion, reconnecting with the values and strengths that guide your path forward.

Therapists here at Kells who offer ACT:
- Laura Clark
- Lauren Appleby
- Linda Forde
- Pamela Hillaby
- Cam Kinosh*ta
- Chantel Wagner
- Emily Peters
- Kayla Hare
- Meagan Fisk-Jordan

Today we celebrate family in all its forms: chosen family, blended families, single-parent families, multigenerational families, and everything in between.

Strong families aren't perfect families. They're families that communicate, support each other through challenges, and keep showing up even when things get hard.

Looking for parenting support? "Raising a Secure Child" by Kent Hoffman, Glen Cooper, and Bert Powell offers practical strategies for building emotional security and healthy attachment with your children.

At Kells Psychology, we support families with:
- Family therapy to improve communication and connection
- Parent coaching for navigating challenges at any stage
- Individual therapy that strengthens family relationships
- Child and youth counselling to support your kids
- Couples counselling to strengthen your partnership

Whether your family is navigating conflict or seeking to strengthen your bond, support is available.

Take time today to connect with the people who matter most. And remember, asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

These aren't just words. They're reminders of truths that are easy to forget when life gets hard.

What's one small way you can show yourself love today? It could be as simple as taking a few deep breaths, enjoying your favourite tea, or letting go of something that's been weighing you down.

Want to learn more about self-compassion? Kristin Neff's "Self-Compassion" offers exercises and action plans for dealing with every emotionally debilitating struggle.

You deserve kindness, especially from yourself.

This Valentine's Day, we're celebrating all kinds of love, including the most important relationship you have: the one with yourself.

Self-love isn't selfish. It's essential for your mental health and wellbeing.

Building a healthy relationship with yourself takes time and practice. If you're struggling with self-esteem, negative self-talk, or feeling worthy of love, therapy can help.

Want to understand yourself better? "Attached" by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller explores attachment styles and can help you discover how you connect with others and yourself.

You deserve the same compassion you give to others.

This February, we honour Black History Month by reaffirming our year-round commitment to mental health care that is accessible, culturally responsive, and rooted in respect.

Systemic barriers and historical underrepresentation have long shaped the mental health landscape in Canada. At Kells Psychology, we are dedicated to the on-going dismantling of these barriers by providing a space where Black Canadians’ lived experiences are not just heard, but also deeply respected.

We can all show up for the mental health of Black Canadians by:
- Deepening your understanding: Move beyond awareness and take the time to learn how systemic racism specifically impacts healthcare and the psychological safety of the Black community.
- Investing locally: Support Black-owned businesses, charities, and organizations in Edmonton and the surrounding areas.
- Fostering inclusive spaces: Actively listen to and value the voices of Black Canadians in your personal and professional circles. Ensure that support is sustained long after February ends.
