November 18th is national grief and bereavement day.

Grief is a natural human experience that everyone will go through. It’s a deeply personal experience that can cause devastating emotional “waves” - and as we’re navigating these choppy waters, it’s essential to seek the support of others.

However, talking about grief can be difficult. Due to the wide myriad of forms it can take, we may feel afraid of being judged or misunderstood if our grief is “unconventional”. On the other hand, our loved ones may struggle to recognize the best way to support your needs in such a challenging time. While they feel powerless, you feel isolated.

National grief and bereavement day aims to bridge this gap by promoting conversations that dismantle stigmas, share resources, and educate on the overall dynamic nature of grief. So today, please join us in spreading grief awareness. ❤️

Regardless of if you’ve served in the military, have a loved one in the military, have lost someone in the military, or are otherwise effected, remembrance day can be a sensitive time. You may experience a range of distressing emotions or find that the wounds of grief and trauma have been reopened; but regardless of how remembrance day effects you, know that your feelings are valid. ❤️

There are many types of grief and ways that grief can manifest. Depending on your experiences, you may feel like nobody could ever understand what you’re going through. This, too, is a normal response to loss - but it doesn’t have to be true.

Seeking someone who has undergone a similar grief experience can help you feel more supported and understood as you navigate through your healing journey. While no two journeys are the same, people who have experienced loss themselves can shed light on the process and help you reclaim a sense of optimism and hope.

You’re likely to have heard a number of ideas in regards to grief: such as that time heals all wounds, or that grief occurs in 5 stages. However, many of these are simple myths that aren’t true.

Grief is a dynamic and deeply personal process. No two people will grieve the same. Some may experience a lack of energy, some may wish to withdraw from the world, and some may wish to be productive. Regardless of grief’s cause and manifestation, there is no singular way to grieve. The only universal trait of grief is its ability to facilitate resilience.

So, if you ever fault yourself for not fitting any of these grief myths, understand that its okay. Your grief is unique to you, and you’ll still develop incredible strength through it ❤️.

We are a team of kind, genuine, and compassionate women who specialize in Grief Recovery® and share a deep passion for helping people heal from significant loss of any kind. There are over 40 life events that can create the feelings of grief including, death, divorce, romantic break-up, pet loss, loss of trust, loss of pregnancy, loss of health, loss of childhood, and unmet hopes, dreams, and expectations. Having experienced painful losses of our own, we feel a deep empathy for the mass of emotions and sense of fear and isolation that people often experience following a loss. Through our own healing, we developed an overwhelming desire to help others move beyond the pain caused by loss.

It is our mission to facilitate healing and recovery for as many people as we can reach, utilizing a powerful method that has transformed our lives and millions of lives across the world. We empower our clients to courageously take new action to complete the pain, isolation, and loneliness caused by loss and to heal from the limiting effects of fear, tentativeness, and worry. Furthermore, we equip our clients with lifelong tools to reclaim their sense of well-being, to make new choices in the present, and to live a life of happiness, purpose, and meaning.

To truly heal our hearts and experience a transformation in the quality of our lives, it is essential that we take new action to complete what is emotionally unfinished in the past in order to move forward. We utilize a heart-centered, action-oriented program, the Grief Recovery Method®, to help our clients complete relationships that have ended or changed due to death, divorce, estrangement, or any other circumstance. We offer this program in individual, group, and workshop formats to suit our clients' unique needs. Additionally, we utilize other highly-structured methodologies to facilitate healing from painful and traumatic memories associated to loss including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Techniques, and IATP Narrative Exposure Therapy.
