❤️ Remembrance Day at ECOH ❤️
Today, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy. Their bravery continues to inspire us, and their legacy lives on in our hearts.

Lest we forget. 🌺

🎃 Halloween Fun at ECOH! 🎃
What a fantastic day it was at the Edmonton Centre of Hope! 👻✨
Our theme this year was Cartoons, and everyone brought their A-game — from superheroes to funny sidekicks, the costumes were bright, creative, and full of smiles!

A huge shoutout to our “Winnie the Pooh” Management Team 🐻🍯 for spreading joy (and treats!) to all our residents and staff. The day was filled with laughter, friendship, and plenty of sweet moments! 🍬

We had such a wonderful time celebrating together — showing that community spirit shines brightest when we have fun as one big family. 💛

💐 Saying Goodbye to Christina 💐

Today we say farewell to Christina, our Transitional Housing Program Manager, as she moves on to an exciting new position.

Christina has been a dedicated leader, a compassionate listener, and a constant source of encouragement for both clients and staff. Her commitment to supporting others and her ability to bring calm and care to every situation have left a lasting mark on our community.

We are deeply grateful for all that Christina has contributed during her time with us. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine heart will be truly missed.

As she begins this new chapter, we wish her every success and happiness in her journey ahead. Christina, you will always be part of the Edmonton Centre of Hope family. 💙

Wishing you all the best — you will be missed but never forgotten.

🌟 Edmonton Centre of Hope at Compassion Care Day 2025 🌟

On October 15, 2025, The Salvation Army Edmonton Centre of Hope proudly participated in Compassion Care Day — a community event held at Boyle Street Plaza that offered free health and wellness services, as well as support for housing, employment, and financial assistance for unsheltered and low-income adults.

The event was bustling with activity — our table welcomed around 190 visitors, shared a variety of materials, including pamphlets, cards, mugs, pens, and other gifts, and connected with many community members and service providers. 💬❤️

It was an incredible opportunity to engage, listen, and offer hope — truly a day that reflected the spirit of compassion in action. This is definitely one to attend again.

🌟 Cook Event Recap! 🌟

Today at Grace Village, we had a fantastic time during our Chinese Cooking Event! 🥢🇨🇳

Participants came together to prepare a delicious noodle dish with vegetables and meat, learning hands-on techniques from Chinese culinary traditions. 🍜🥩🥕🌶️

The room was filled with laughter, teamwork, and shared stories — a true celebration of food and friendship. From prepping ingredients to enjoying the final dish, we didn’t just cook — we connected. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible culinary team for their expert guidance, kindness, and patience.

Stay tuned — more events that bring us together through food, culture, and care are on the way!

🎉🎂 Happy 4th Birthday to Freddie the Social Worker Cat! 🐾🎈

This week we celebrated our beloved companion Freddie at Grace Village with a very special ice cream cake! 🍰🐱 Residents sang “Happy Birthday” to him by meowing 🎶🐾 — and Freddie soaked up every moment, purring happily and going up to everyone for scratches. 💕

He was spoiled with his favorite cat treats as gifts, and the fun didn’t stop there — residents enjoyed Freddie-themed trivia and coloured pictures of our birthday boy. 🖍️🎉

Freddie has brought so much love, laughter, and comfort to the residents, and it was heartwarming to see everyone celebrate this milestone together. Here’s to many more years of purrs, cuddles, and joy with our special Social Worker Cat! ✨💖
