🩹 Strains don’t happen suddenly - your body gives warning signs first.
Watch for:
• Mild soreness or tightness
• Tingling or burning sensations
• Muscle fatigue
• Pain that goes away with rest but returns at work

⚡ These early signals matter. Ignoring them can lead to serious injury and time away from work. Don’t push through discomfort. Speak up early, adjust tasks, and protect your body.

📄 Read the full CCA Safety Talk (link in the comments section) to learn how to recognize the signs early and prevent strains before they become injuries.

A strong safety culture starts at the top. Management leadership and organizational commitment are essential to the success of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), showing that safety is a core value, not just a requirement. When leaders actively support training, address hazards, and model safe behaviours, they build trust and encourage participation at all levels. Strong leadership commitment helps embed safety into daily operations, creating healthier and safer workplaces for everyone.

This year, our Monthly Safety Talks will focus on 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐌𝐒𝐃𝐬), including body mechanics, MSIs, and RSIs. Our first talk, “𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤: 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬”, helps workers recognize how everyday tasks can impact muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints.

Safety is shared: Employers identify MSD hazards and provide training and tools and Workers use proper techniques and report discomfort early.

A strong safety culture starts with a strong system. An Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) helps identify hazards, manage risks, and keep everyone aligned through clear roles, communication, and expectations. When everyone understands their role, safety becomes part of everyday work, not an extra step. Before starting any task, pause and ask:
