The Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic wishes our namesake, Glen Sather, a very happy retirement!

Glen Sather’s ties to our clinic run deep. As a former player and coach, he not only left an indelible mark on the hockey world but also contributed significantly to the local community. His commitment to excellence extended beyond the rink, and his involvement with the clinic exemplifies this.

Throughout his career, Sather emphasized the importance of physical well-being and rehabilitation. His leadership and vision helped shape the clinic into a trusted institution, providing top-notch care to elite athletes and every-day Edmontonians alike. Whether it was supporting injured players or advocating for preventive measures, Sather’s influence resonated within the clinic’s walls.

As he embarks on this new chapter in retirement, we celebrate not only his hockey legacy but also his lasting impact on sports medicine.

Sather Spotlight: Deborah McIntyre, RMT

With over 20 years of working as a Registered Massage Therapist, Deb has decades of experience helping clients reach their health and fitness goals. As a member of our interdisciplinary clinic team, she works collaboratively with our physicians and physiotherapists to treat a range of musculoskeletal issues using an effective deep tissue treatment.

In addition to completing her Massage Therapy Certification at Grant MacEwan, she has also shared her knowledge with future students, teaching their Joint Mobilization and Rehabilitation Exercise Program Design for many years.

When she’s not at our clinic, you are quite likely to find Deb providing massage therapy services to the FC Edmonton Professional Soccer Team and the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas National Track and Field Team.

Her favourite ways to stay active are hitting the slopes in the winter months and taking advantage of our river valley’s bike paths in the summer months.

Follow the link in our bio to book a massage with Deb at our Main Clinic on Thursdays (11:00 - 5:00pm), or book an appointment with her at our Saville Sports Centre location on Tuesdays (11:00 - 5:00pm).
