🚧 Rail Trail Construction Update 🚴‍♀️

Great progress is being made this winter on the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail thanks to mild weather and the dedicated Yucwmenlúcwu (Caretakers of the Land) construction team.

From flood protection to bridge restoration, important work is moving the trail closer to completion.

🏡 Splatsin Homes Showhome Groundbreaking – Now on Rogers TV!

We’re proud to share coverage from Rogers TV Vernon of the recent Splatsin Homes Showhome Groundbreaking Ceremony in Enderby — a meaningful milestone in Indigenous-led, community-focused housing.

The ceremony brought together Splatsin leadership, Elders, community members, and partners to celebrate the launch of the Splatsin Homes Showhome, which will highlight high-quality, energy-efficient housing designed to support families and long-term community well-being.

The day began in a good way with an opening prayer from Splatsin Elder Randy William and traditional dances by Julianna Alexander, Bart Thomas, and Helen Duteau, grounding the project in culture, respect, and community.

Splatsin Development Corporation proudly marked the groundbreaking of the Splatsin Homes Showhome in Enderby — an important step forward in Indigenous-led, community-focused housing.

Splatsin Development Corporation Gifts $120,000 to Residential School Monument Project

Splatsin Development Corporation has gifted $120,000 to the Splatsin Residential School Monument Project, completing the final funding required to move the Survivor-led monument into fabrication and installation.

After years of dedicated service as Forestry Manager with Yucwmenlúcwu (Caretakers of the Land) LLP, Frank has retired from SDC. His leadership, expertise, and commitment to sustainable forestry have helped shape the future of our forestry division — and he will be greatly missed.

Frank and his wife have begun their next chapter in Campbell River, where he’ll continue to provide senior advisory support to SDC.
