Mark your calendars!
Trying this again for early spring!

April 18-19
Location to be confirmed (Enderby/SA area)

Open to all disciplines and levels.

Katrina Per-Carruthers of Leviosa Equine is not only one of the smartest people I know, but hands down the best clinician I've had the pleasure of riding with. She knows exactly how to educate while still being FUN and, most important of all, also keeps it enjoyable for the horse.

It's one thing to read about these restrictions but it's a whole other level to see and FEEL it 🤯 I wasn't able to share video from the dissection I attended a couple of years ago where we did these same tests so I'm super thankful for this awesome post.
These videos and explanations are worth your attention!
Your horse is not resisting.. they physically CANNOT comply if your equipment or training style is inhibiting these motions.

A good, evidence-based article on joint supplements for pets. Contrary to popular belief, feeding glucosamine/chondroitin isn't all that useful. It's better to spend your 💰 on a good quality diet, omega 3's and perhaps some green lipped mussel powder and/or CBD oil. For dogs in chronic pain, a multi-modal pain management plan needs to be discussed with your vet.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common chronic conditions affecting both dogs and cats. Top findings about supplement effectiveness.

Ahhh 😌 some nice releases after cranial work.
My own horses have been a bit neglected in terms of bodywork lately (the term "cobbler's kids" definitely rings true 😅) but Rayne got some much needed attention the other day. She really thrives on a regular schedule ever since fracturing her poll 5 or so years ago.

Key signs of tension from her are:
- being slightly stand offish
- worried/stress eye
- some random teeth grinding
- not interested in or finishing her bucket of pellets/supplements

Some of these are quite subtle changes and for some horses might be brushed off as normal/cranky behavior, just being picky, etc.
The food thing still amazes me after years of this pattern 😆 literally hours after our session she ate her bucket just fine with no issues.
The power of craniosacral work still gets me every time ❤️

If you have noticed even slight behaviorial changes in your horse or dog, there's a reason why! Trust your gut and what your animal is telling you.

Super important reading here 👇
I will always advocate for a later start. There is SO much you can "do" with the babies that doesn't include riding. I hope the competition world will eventually change things to honour the way their bodies develop. At the end of the day, the horse will always pay the price.

Joint health and supplements is a frequent topic with clients. 4cyte is one of the only joint supplements that I use and recommend.
