Meet Sara East, Owner & Speech-Language Pathologist at Alara Learning and Therapy Services!

Sara has been a registered Speech-Language Pathologist since 2009, bringing over 16 years of experience supporting children and families across school, health, and private settings.

She has worked with a wide range of speech, language, and feeding needs, and is deeply committed to ongoing learning to provide the highest quality care.

As the founder of Alara, Sara has created a space rooted in compassion, connection, and individualized support. She is passionate about helping her clients build confidence and communication skills in a way that feels empowering for the whole family.

When she’s not working, you can find Sara on the farm south of Alameda with her family, spending time with their animals, riding horses, or cheering on her girls at softball. One of her favourite parts of working with children? The laughter—it truly fills her soul.

As our practice has grown, so has our team. What was once centered around one provider has evolved into a collaborative, supportive team dedicated to serving children and families.

We wanted a name that reflects that growth.

Alara means “she who brings joy,” which beautifully represents how we serve our clients, delivering speech and language support with both expertise and joy.

While our name has changed, our commitment remains the same. We continue to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care in a warm and welcoming environment.

We’re excited to welcome Reece Redpath to our team in Carlyle! Reece is a licensed teacher who will be available for after school tutoring beginning in January! Reece has taught several grades and has experience across all subject areas. Her schedule will soon be on Jane!

🌿 Meet Laura Wood, Nurse Practitioner
We’re so excited to welcome Laura Wood, Nurse Practitioner, to the Kindred Care Collective team! 💛
With more than 40 years of nursing experience, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge, heart, and dedication to her role. Throughout her career, she has served communities across southeast Saskatchewan, working in a wide range of healthcare settings, from acute and long-term care to emergency rooms, home care, and teaching.
Laura’s journey is one rooted deeply in service. After earning her Master’s in Nursing / Nurse Practitioner from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011, she went on to practice in northern Saskatchewan and has spent the past 11 years at Carlyle Primary Health Centre, providing compassionate, comprehensive care for her patients.
What truly sets Laura apart is her philosophy of care, she believes that healing involves both the mind and body, and she integrates this holistic approach into everything she does. Whether she’s supporting a patient through a challenging diagnosis, offering preventative care, or simply listening with empathy, Laura’s presence brings comfort and connection to those she serves.
Now, as she joins Kindred Care Collective, Laura is excited to collaborate with Jenna Kress and the rest of our team to continue making a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of our community.
