Our Diabetes Team, along with many staff members across the hospital, are wearing blue today to mark World Diabetes Day.

Our entrance is also shining with blue lights to honour Diabetes Awareness Month. We invite you to join us in raising awareness and supporting those affected by diabetes. Together, let’s inspire our community to engage in conversations about diabetes prevention and management.

On Remembrance Day, we honour the brave men and women who served our country, those who gave their lives, and those who returned forever changed. Their sacrifice reminds us not only to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy, but also to uphold the values they fought for and to contribute positively to our communities.

Remembering matters. Every poppy worn, every two-minute silence, and every ceremony observed connects us to our past and strengthens our commitment to future generations.

This week, we’re celebrating our incredible team of Medical Radiation Technologists, the skilled professionals who help capture the images that make diagnosis and treatment possible.

We’re resharing a video from earlier this year featuring Spring, our Senior Medical Radiation Technologist, who has been a core member of our team for over 30 years. For Spring, working at the hospital is more than just a job, it’s part of her family’s story. She shares what inspired her to follow in her family’s footsteps and what continues to make the work meaningful to her.

We’re so grateful for the expertise and commitment our MRTs bring to their work, and for the kindness and care they show to every patient they meet.

It’s Infection Control Week! At South Huron Hospital, Amber, our dedicated Infection Prevention and Control and Patient Flow lead, guides our efforts every day with her expertise and leadership. Keeping our hospital safe is a team effort across all departments, and we’re grateful to every staff member who plays a part.

From vigilant monitoring and strict cleaning protocols to staff training and carefully managing patient flow, we all work together to make sure our hospital remains a safe place for patients, families, and staff.

With cold and flu season here, our team is leading by example by getting their flu vaccinations to protect themselves and those around them. You can join us in keeping our community safe by washing your hands regularly, covering coughs and sneezes, staying home when you’re feeling unwell, and getting vaccinated.

We’re so grateful to Amber and all our staff for everything they do to protect our hospital and keep our community safe and healthy.

This week is Health Information Professionals Week, and we're celebrating our health records clerks, transcriptionists, and medical coders. They are the detail-driven experts you don’t always see but who support every patient visit.

From ensuring every note is documented correctly, to transcribing medical reports and accurately coding diagnoses and procedures, their work keeps patient records reliable and care running smoothly.

Let’s give a shoutout to these professionals this week and take a moment to appreciate all they do!

Happy Pharmacy Technician Day! Today, we celebrate the incredible individuals who play an essential role in delivering safe, high-quality care at our hospital.

Whether it’s preparing emergency medications or ensuring routine prescriptions are accurate and ready, pharmacy technicians are vital to patient care. They make sure the right medications are available when and where they're needed, always upholding the highest standards of safety and reliability. When patients are discharged, they carefully verify prescriptions and provide clear explanations to support treatment at home.

To our pharmacy techs: thank you for everything you do to support our patients and the entire care team!
