Join us for a feel good day filled with community, connection, and fun, all in support of Jessica’s House Hospice. Walk the trail, take on our family friendly scavenger hunt, or stop by the rec centre for games and a light lunch. There is something for everyone!

Bring your crew, family, friends, coworkers, kids, and be part of something truly meaningful. Every step you take helps provide compassionate end of life care and free grief support right here in our community.

At Jessica’s House Hospice, we know how important it is to hold space for grief and to support one another through it.

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we are so grateful to have 100+ incredible volunteers who support Jessica’s House Hospice in so many meaningful ways 💙

Our Direct Care Volunteers are often the first friendly face families see. They answer phones, welcome visitors, help keep the house running with meals, laundry, and daily tasks, and most importantly, offer comfort and companionship to residents and their loved ones.

Our Indirect Volunteers work behind the scenes, helping with administration, maintaining the building, caring for our gardens and outdoor spaces, and supporting our bereavement programs so families continue to feel supported.

Our Special Event Volunteers bring energy and creativity to everything they do, helping plan, organize, and run the events that raise essential funds and connect our community.

Every role is important. Every moment creates impact.

Join our NEW Hike for Hospice Scavenger Hunt and explore the community in a whole new way! This family-friendly adventure brings you around Exeter while connecting with amazing local businesses, all while raising awareness and support for Jessica’s House Hospice.

Join us for the scavenger hunt after our trail hike… or do both!
🕚 Scavenger Hunt Registration: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
🕛 Scavenger Hunt: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Since opening our doors in 2018, over 18,000 volunteer hours have been given to support our residents, families, events, programs, maintenance, administration and more. Every hour represents compassion, kindness, and a commitment to walking alongside others during life’s most difficult moments.

From offering comfort, to helping at events, to sharing a simple smile… our volunteers make an impact that cannot be measured.

Every week since we opened, Fern has been bringing in small vases of flowers for our residents. Over time, that has grown to more than 1,000 bouquets of comfort and care.
