As the holiday season approaches, we recognize this time can hold both warmth and tenderness. ✨💛

We invite you to join us for our Tribute Tree Memorial Event on Sunday, November 16, 2025, as we gather in the backyard of Jessica’s House Hospice from 4:00–5:00 p.m. to gently remember and honour the lives of those we miss.

At 4:30 p.m., we will share words of remembrance and light the Jessica’s House holiday lights.

Enjoy warm refreshments generously provided by HJV Equipment. Bring a lawn chair and a cozy blanket, and settle in to listen to live music from Warren Hargraves.

You’re welcome to fill out a tribute tag in memory of your loved one and place it on our Tribute Trees. These trees will be brought indoors and displayed throughout the holiday season — a tender reminder that love continues.

All are welcome.
We hope to share this moment of reflection and warmth with you. 💛

POSITION SUMMARY
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) supports the mission, vision, and values of Jessica’s House Hospice (JHH). They will work collaboratively in the interdisciplinary team and will liaise with all other healthcare providers to develop and maintain a client-centered plan of care. The PSW is expected to be a positive role model for all staff, volunteers, students, families, visitors, guests, and the community. The PSW must possess a certificate of completion from an approved learning institution. To perform the job successfully, the PSW must have strong organizational and prioritization skills as well as demonstrated teamwork skills. The PSW must possess a clear understanding of ethics, especially as it relates to hospice palliative care. The PSW will collect information from a variety of sources using skills of observation and communication and will relay information within an appropriate time frame to the registered staff. The PSW acts as an advocate to protect and promote the residents’ rights to autonomy, respect, privacy, dignity, and access to information. Under the direction of registered staff, the PSW assumes the responsibility for providing direct care to the residents and documenting such care according to the care plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
• PSW certificate of completion from an approved learning institution
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with individuals and their families in end-of-life care
• Completion of Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care
• Fundamentals an asset
• Multifaceted and time management skills accompanied by flexibility
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage conflict
• Able to function in an interdisciplinary team environment
• Demonstrated critical thinking, assessment and problem resolution skills
• Demonstrated interest in ongoing professional development
• Proficient in use of Microsoft 365

Drumroll Please!

WOW! Together, we raised an amazing $180,000 at this year’s Handbags for Hospice! 💕

Because of your generosity, two cuddle beds were fully funded during our fund a need portion of the Handbags for Hospice event — bringing us closer to our goal of three cuddle beds for Jessica’s House! 💕

These specialized beds allow loved ones to share precious moments side by side, creating comfort and connection when it matters most.

The remaining donations will be used towards the operational costs of the facility so we can continue to provide FREE high level of compassionate care and grief support to those who use our services!
