Massage:
- Tight muscles can cause limited motion in limbs and bones. By relaxing the muscles and working out knots you improve the mobility of joints and bones to keep your equine partner moving freely and without pain.
- Increases blood flow and oxygen to muscles, relaxing them.
Reduce scar tissue build up. Scar tissue can happen when an injury has healed. This new tissue usually is more dense and has less give and elasticity. Through massage scar tissue can be broken up and reduced to allow for greater movement of muscle and stimulate new tissue growth, giving muscle back their stretch and movement.
Advanced Stretching:
- It will keep the muscles relaxed and increase mobility.
- Keeps your horse moving and feeling well between treatments.
Lymphatic Drainage:
- Aids in draining lymph fluid and moving toxins through lymph nodes.
- increases circulation and oxygen
- Movement of lymph centres activates the lymphatic system to filter what is moving through.
- Helps to decrease swelling in horses.
K-taping:
- If you are trying to rehab your horse from an injury, k-tape is a great tool to utilize. It can help increase blood flow, support joints and ligaments or torn muscles. It can also aid in muscle relaxation by taking some pressure off the overstimulated muscles.
- Also helps to support muscles as you bring your horse back into shape.
Cranio-Sacral Therapy:
- The facial plates can be moved around to relieve headaches or pressure build up from head injuries.
- This addresses the fluid that is held between their skull and brain, it is there to protect the brain as well as transmit messages down their spinal column. If there is a blockage or impediment in the flow of this fluid, it can cause minor problems in their nervous system, which in turn can cause bigger issues to the rest of their body. By removing the blockage or excess pressure it will allow for better communication from the brain to the rest of the body.
