Arthur 2nd Look recently invited us to visit & presented a cheque for $2,000 for vital equipment at GMCH. The entirely volunteer-run second-hand shop raises funds to support a wide variety of community organizations, all across our region. We are so appreciative that they chose Groves as one of the beneficiaries, again this year!

Thank you, Arthur Second Look, for your ongoing support of our hospital. In their amazing 11 years of donating, they have given almost $20,000 to fund the ongoing needs of Groves.

Thank you for all you do! 💜💚

This week, we celebrate Patient Access Week, recognizing the incredible staff who are often the first point of contact in a patient’s care journey.

Clerks across Central Registration, Emergency, Ambulatory Care, Diagnostic Imaging, and Inpatient Units welcome patients, verify and update information, coordinate appointments, and manage check-ins and discharges. They support communication between patients and care teams, help guide patients through their visits, and play a key role in keeping workflows organized and efficient while ensuring patients feel informed and supported.

Thank you for the important work you do to keep everything running smoothly.

This April, we’re recognizing the incredible impact of organ and tissue donation.

One donor can save lives through organ donation and help dozens more through tissue donation, giving people the chance to heal, recover, and live more fully.

Let’s round out the week with a welcome dose of cuteness, courtesy of Groves Baby Mia 🥹🫶🏼.

“Hi! Just wanted to share now that we finally fit into our Groves Foundation onesie! This is Mia, born July 6th, 2025, delivered by the wonderful Guelph Midwives, Natalie and her students. We’re so grateful for the care and support we received throughout our stay. The L&D nurses were incredible and helped guide us every step of the way. We feel truly lucky to have had two beautiful birth experiences at Groves and will always be thankful for the kindness and care from everyone involved.
Thank you again!” ~ Amelie & Dave Gavris 🤍

This month, we were honoured to host the Understanding Anti-Indigenous Racism in Health Care Workshop at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
Facilitated by Jodi Rock & Cassandra Sault, the session explored the realities of anti-Indigenous racism in health care, including the privileging of biomedical knowledge & approaches.

Participants engaged in meaningful learning around pathways toward cultural humility in care, strengthening our collective commitment to more inclusive, respectful, & equitable health care practices. The workshop concluded with a hands-on traditional medicine activity & reflection, where participants created a body scrub from scratch, connecting the learning with practical experience, reflection, & community.

A heartfelt thank you to Jodi & Cassandra, and to everyone who participated, for making this workshop such a meaningful & impactful experience.

🔧♻️ Update on Your Metal Matters Bin ♻️🔧

The metal recycling bin from New to You - Fergus has been temporarily moved to GMCH (see photo) during construction 🚧.

The good news? You can still donate your scrap metal, right at GMCH.

This important fundraiser, started by Fergus Auto Recyclers (2015-2019) and carried forward by SCS Metals LTD has raised $32,500 for the vital needs of our hospital.

The plan is to move the bin back to New to You in a couple of months, so stay tuned for updates!

Thank you for continuing to support this initiative, going on its 11th year! All funds raised by Your Metal Matters come right to Groves Hospital Foundation, helping support care close to home. 💚💜

This Dietitian’s Day, we’re honouring the dedication and impact of dietitians across Canada. Across our hospitals, including Groves, our five Registered Dietitians (RDs) support recovery, chronic disease management, and diabetes education with practical, evidence-based care. Good nutrition is foundational to treatment, better overall health outcomes, and lifelong wellbeing.

Meet Mike and Juliana, two of our RDs at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. They share what inspired them to become dietitians, what the role means to them, and a few tips and tasty recipes.

We are grateful for the meaningful difference our RDs make in the health and lives of our patients and communities. 🍎🥕🍋🥑🫐🍇
