For more than four decades, the first Saturday in May, is Alberta Highway Clean Up day. Covering more than 9000 kilometres (5592 miles) of roads in Alberta, roadside trash and debris face an enthusiastic Alberta spring cleaning crew. The clean up is an opportunity for non-profit organizations and charities to help beautify the provincial road system while raising funds for their organizations to deliver programs throughout the year.

We just completed our last program for the year with 6 wonderful youth who participated in the Developing A Wellness Toolkit For Teens program. This program was created to aid youth in improving their knowledge around mental health & wellness and provide a safe space to create a toolkit with strategies that will help support positive mental health, healthy relationships, communication, emotional awareness and regulation all the while, engaging in fun and positive experiences.

We would like to thank the Calgary Children's Foundation, QR77 and the Westin for providing the funding to offer this fully subsized program to these youth!

Thank you again to FCSS-Okotoks for providing us with the funding to be able to offer a fully subsidized program for 6 local parents/caregivers. These individuals were able to participate in the Building Resilient Parents/Caregivers for Enhanced Family Wellness Program, where they were able to find some healing opportunities for themselves as well as learn strategies to support the individuals they care for.

We had a wonderful time getting to know and providing support to 12 local families during the Developing Your Wellness Toolkit for Building Resilient Families programs that were run this summer and fall. We also wanted to thank the United Way/Okotoks Partnership again for providing us with funding to be able to offer a fully subsidized program to these families.

We have a few spots left in each of our Parent/Child wellness program opportunities. The program is being offered to support family resilience and includes time and activities with horses and nature!

Aug 10, 17, 24 2024 10:30am-1:30pm (youth aged 10-12)
Sept 14, 21, 282024 10:30am-1:30pm (youth ages 13-17)

This program is fully subsidized for the participating families thanks to the United Way/Okotoks Partnership!

NBN had a great time at the Okotoks Teddy Bear Picnic on Thursday July 6th. Our theme was Helping Your Family Grow. We visited with lots little ones and their families and had fun planting sunflowers and marigolds in cups decorated with love and positivity by the kiddos for them to take home.

We had a fun morning this past Friday, with the some of the staff from the McMan Family Resource Network-Okotoks. Thank you for coming out to share this experience together and we look forward to the future opportunities to come down the road!
