National Day for Truth and Reconciliation September 30, 2025
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Chaque année, le 30 septembre marque la Journée nationale pour la vérité et la réconciliation.
Cette journée est l’occasion de rendre hommage aux enfants qui n’ont jamais pu retourner chez eux et aux survivants des écoles résidentielles ainsi qu’à leurs familles et leurs communautés. La commémoration publique de l’histoire tragique et douloureuse des pensionnats et de leurs séquelles durables est un élément essentiel du processus de réconciliation.
