Looking forward to the future of collaborative, team-based healthcare for New Brunswickers.

Dr. Nissen earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (2017), after completing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, at UNB Fredericton (2013). To further her education, she is currently working towards her Master’s in Applied Health Services Research (MAHSR), through UNB.
As a chiropractor, Dr. Nissen possesses an extensive understanding of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. She will thoroughly assess and diagnose each case, and provide an individualized, patient-centered treatment plan which may include soft tissue therapy, joint mobilizations and manipulation, exercise and stretching prescription, ergonomic advice as well as education on various health related topics. There are many reasons to seek chiropractic care. Some examples include headaches, back pain, neck pain, postural concerns, activity change or new goals, pain or discomfort in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, or foot.
Dr. Nissen treats a variety of patient populations including:
Females of all ages and stages of life (including youth and pre-and post-natal): with a strong interest in female health, Dr. Nissen hopes to help females find full function and comfort while also establishing excellent health practices.
Athletes: while treating both competitive and recreational athletes of all ages, Dr. Nissen has a special interest in youth athletes. She believes that a strong base must be established early on for the athlete to be able to fully excel and prevent injury. This requires unique attention and body awareness.
The aging population: with age comes change. For some, these changes may be more significant than others however, everyone must be able to adapt. Being able to fully maintain activities of daily living and activities of interest while avoiding pain are key to happy and healthy aging.
Students, professionals, parents, and others: no matter what your day-to-day activity looks like, there are a variety of stressors placed on the body at any given time. Adapting to the increased demand placed on muscles, joints, and other supporting structures can lead to pain and/or discomfort over time. It is important to address these and support your body to allow optimal function and prevent injury.
Dr. Nissen is practicing at Max Health Institute, 550 Prospect Street Fredericton, NB (506) 451-6837 ext. 2. Appointments can be made by phone or online at https://www.maxhealthfred.com.
