You’re going to want to check back for Part 2: What To Do In Case You Get It
Mastitis on a regular day is awful🤒
But mastitis when you're travelling or visiting family around the holidays.. even worse!
Let's avoid this happening to you this holiday season!
1. Plan where, when, and how you will feed baby if company is around or you go out.
2. Feed baby or pump as often as you usually would. Avoid engorgement as much as possible.
3. Avoid stress and unwire bras, drink lots of water, & get lots of sleep.
4. Pay attention to baby’s early feeding cues.
Save this and send to any nursing friends you have!
Friends don't let friends get mastitis on Christmas! 🎄

DELAYED CORD CLAMPING IS SAFE!
- better outcomes for baby
- more iron stores
- higher breastfeeding rates
- SO MANY BENEFITS
Stop with the BS info! This is either negligence, ignorance (which is a bad look for an OBGYN) or coercion.
All I can say is... enough already!

The American Academy of Pediatrics now warns that sleep training before 12 months can disrupt attachment and nervous system regulation. The concern is not parenting style but biology. Babies’ brains are still wiring safety signals through proximity.
In the first year, infants cannot self-regulate. Their nervous system relies on co-regulation with caregivers. When stress rises, closeness to a parent helps settle the amygdala, lower cortisol, and signal safety. Room-sharing is a natural way to provide this support.
Sleep training too early teaches babies to manage stress alone before their brains are ready. Calm is not learned by isolation under stress. Instead, infants need repeated, responsive soothing so regulation becomes internalized over time.
Parents who previously sleep trained are not failing their children. They acted on the information available in a culture that often prioritizes independence over developmental readiness. Understanding the science changes how we view early sleep strategies.
This research emphasizes that proximity wires safety. Babies learn calm through closeness, not isolation. Early care that meets stress with support builds secure attachment, emotional regulation, and lifelong resilience.

It’s finally happening… Birth Coaching spots are OPEN! 🎉
(And trust me… they tend to disappear faster than a postpartum snack stash 😂)
If you’re expecting in 2026 and want an expert in your corner to guide you through every step of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum - this is your sign to book your Meet & Greet.
The benefits of having a birth coach + doula in your corner are honestly incredible (like… shorter labours, fewer interventions, more confidence, and support you can actually count on).
Availability is limited (and some months are already FULL), so now’s the time to grab your spot!!
Questions? Send us a message! We'd love to support you on your birth and postpartum journey. 🤍

LETS TALK DUE DATES📆
The majority of the time, the date you are given is calculated based on your last menstruation or by early ultrasound (between 7-12 weeks). These are an estimated due date. The truth is, many factors impact the accuracy of these calculations, such as varying menstrual cycle lengths or errors in measurement on ultrasound. Baby doesn’t know that they are supposed to make their arrival on the date you’ve been given. Evidence tells us that most pregnancies, will go over the given due date.
Having an expectation that baby will come at or before this date, can lead to so many emotions. You may be flooded with disappointment, frustration, feeling “so done,” and more. We like to suggest that families plan to go 1-2 weeks over their given date to help reduce some of these negative feelings.
Be packed and ready by 36 weeks but expect to go into labour between 41-42 weeks - most of you will. Not only does this set more realistic expectations, but it encourages feelings of calm and safety, which allows your body to be more rested, relaxed, and optimize your oxytocin. 🤗
Oxytocin is naturally produced when we feel safe, loved, and happy. This hormone is helpful all throughout your perinatal journey but towards the end of pregnancy, it is specifically helpful in starting labour. 💓
We’d love to help you learn more about supporting your body through this journey! Now booking prenatal and birthing support for 2026. 🤓🩷

A little about me:
I am a Mom to a very busy boy and a tireless dog, a wife, and have a Bachelor degree in Nursing with more than 7 years of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse.
Beyond The Bump™ Education is a result of all my work experiences, but especially because of my beginning in nursing. I started my career with a volunteer position nursing in the Dominican Republic with an organization that works with impoverished Dominican people and Haitian refugee communities. During a pop-up clinic I was helping an OBGYN with, we came across a little boy who was only 6lbs 2oz at nearly 3 months old; Jameson quickly became the reason I was there. We brought him to the hospital, had testing done and found out he was severely anemic and allergic to the formula he was being given. Every second day I would go to their village, give him iron and do teaching (as best I could in my broken Spanish unable to speak Haitian Creole) with his 16 year old Mom. Jameson grew quite quickly and is 7 years old this year!! Because of him, a new prenatal program was developed and has graduated hundreds of women through it- Jameson’s Mom is one of those graduates!
This experience, along with my own pregnancy and postpartum, have been huge motivators for this dream of mine to come alive! I love to teach and I firmly believe that all parents should have access to reliable information that empowers them to make educated choices for themselves and their children.
Beyond The Bump™ Education will be providing prenatal and postnatal education; safety workshops focusing on children and families; CPR (BLS) certifications; and be helping connect new parents with the resources they need to be successful.
