Tending The Heart :: Practices for Physiological & Emotional Regulation

According to the heart coherence is "the state when the heart, mind and emotions are in energetic alignment and cooperation." Heart coherence is key to our overall health and optimal functioning. When the heart and mind are in coherence, β€œthe regulation of life processes become efficient, free-flowing and easy".

Similarly, in yoga and Ayurveda, the heart is considered the original seat of consciousness, a crucial energetic hub in the body where many physical and energetic pathways intersect. The heart is the convergence between our inner and outer worlds. Ojas (our most subtle essence of vitality and immunity) resides in the heart and can be negatively impacted by stress, trauma, lifestyle, the quality of our relationships and our state of consciousness.

If you're seeking opportunities to nurture your heart & nervous system this summer, I'm offering two trauma-sensitive sessions:

πŸ’š A Somatic Yin-Restorative Series - July 23 - Aug 20
πŸ’š An Embodied Resilience Practice Series July 24 - August 21

In these classes we'll address seasonal imbalances, supporting the work of your physical heart, digestion and circulation. We'll focus on somatic awareness, releasing neuromuscular tension, stress and anxiety, and encouraging your body's natural intelligence to self-regulate and heal.

We'll also explore meditative practices for self-compassion, deep rest and balance within your body, heart & mind.
