O.C.T. Stands for Optical Coherence Tomography. It is an advanced imaging scan that allows us to see detailed cross-sections of the layers inside your eye, almost like an “ultrasound,” but using light instead of sound.
It gives us a highly detailed view of the retina and optic nerve, helping detect and monitor conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, macular holes, swelling, bleeding, tears and even cancers, often before vision changes occur.
Many eye diseases develop silently, without pain or early symptoms. An O.C.T. helps us catch subtle changes early, track progression over time, and make informed decisions about your care.
It’s quick, painless, non-contact, and provides information we simply cannot see with the naked eye alone.
Come see us at Forest Eye Care. Located @ 21 Mill Street in Gananoque!
