O.C.T. Stands for Optical Coherence Tomography. It is an advanced imaging scan that allows us to see detailed cross-sections of the layers inside your eye, almost like an “ultrasound,” but using light instead of sound.

It gives us a highly detailed view of the retina and optic nerve, helping detect and monitor conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, macular holes, swelling, bleeding, tears and even cancers, often before vision changes occur.

Many eye diseases develop silently, without pain or early symptoms. An O.C.T. helps us catch subtle changes early, track progression over time, and make informed decisions about your care.

It’s quick, painless, non-contact, and provides information we simply cannot see with the naked eye alone.

Just because your glasses prescription hasn’t changed doesn’t mean your eyes haven’t. 👀

Your prescription measures how clearly you see, but it doesn’t tell the whole story about your eye health. Conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal changes can develop without causing blurry vision right away. That means you could be seeing 20/20 and still have something going on beneath the surface.

Comprehensive eye exams check more than just whether you need new glasses, they evaluate the overall health of your eyes and can catch concerns early, often before you notice symptoms.

Good vision doesn’t always mean healthy eyes. Regular exams are about protecting your sight for the long term.

Dry eye is more than just occasional irritation, it happens when your eyes don’t produce enough tears, or when the tears evaporate too quickly. Healthy tears are essential for clear vision and comfort.

You might have dry eye if you notice:
• Burning or stinging
• Grittiness (like something is in your eye)
• Blurry vision that comes and goes
• Watery eyes (yes, watering can actually be a sign!)
• Redness or sensitivity to light

Dry eye is very common, especially with screen time, contact lens wear, certain medications, or hormonal changes.

The good news? There are treatment options available to improve comfort and protect your eye health.

If your eyes don’t feel their best, it might be time to have them checked!

What is an Astigmatism?

Astigmatism isn’t a disease, it’s simply a very common focusing issue.

Normally, the front surface of your eye (the cornea) is shaped like a smooth basketball. With astigmatism, it’s shaped a bit more like a football. Because of this uneven curve, light doesn’t focus evenly on the retina, which can cause blurry or distorted vision at all distances.

The good news? Astigmatism is very common and easily corrected with glasses or contact lenses.

Clear vision is possible, though you may need a slightly different lens prescription to achieve it.

Sunglasses aren’t just for comfort, they’re protection for your eyes ☀️

Just like sunscreen protects your skin, sunglasses shield your eyes from harmful UV rays. Long-term sun exposure can increase the risk of cataracts, macular degeneration, and other eye health issues. Even on cloudy days, UV rays can still cause damage.

Wearing quality sunglasses with 100% UV protection helps keep your eyes healthy today and for years to come. 😎

Your vision is worth protecting!
