Reading and writing are built on speech and language. Our SLPs can identify learning differences early, before reading struggles begin. We build the foundational skills and teach all aspects of literacy in a clear, logical way.

If your child has a history of speech/language impairment (e.g., late talking, unclear speech, trouble understanding) and a family history of reading/learning difficulties, he/she is at high risk. Early skills matter! Early support works! Book your screening for more info.

According to the Science of Reading, the skills needed for speaking and listening are the same as those required for reading and writing. Our SLPs have advanced training in literacy and specialize in early identification, assessment and intervention of children who are at-risk and/or struggle with reading and writing. Using evidence-based approaches grounded in the Science of Reading, we can build your child’s reading brain.

Reading is incredibly beneficial. It builds vocabulary, background knowledge, language comprehension, and a love of stories. Reading together at home absolutely matters.

But when a child is struggling to read, especially with decoding, simply asking them to read more is not intervention. Struggling readers need explicit, systematic instruction that teaches them how to read. They need direct teaching in phonemic awareness, sound letter relationships, blending, and word reading so the text can actually make sense.

Once decoding becomes more automatic, reading more becomes empowering instead of exhausting. The goal is not less reading. The goal is the right instruction first, so reading can finally open doors instead of creating frustration.
