A slow blink from your cat is basically a kitty “I love you.”

When a cat slowly closes and opens their eyes while looking at you, it’s a sign they feel safe, relaxed, and trusting in that moment. In the feline world, direct staring can be threatening, so a soft blink is their way of saying, “I’m comfortable with you.”

Did you know?
Dogs and cats have a third eyelid called the “nictitating membrane.”
It helps protect their eyes and keeps them moist, basically built-in goggles!

You’ll sometimes notice it when they’re sleepy, super relaxed, or just waking up.

Scotch showed up today looking very official in his police-style harness!

He was in for his glucose curve and was such a good boy for all his visits. Calm, patient, and all smiles the whole time. Good job, Scotch!

TRUE OR FALSE: Snow is good enrichment for dogs?

✅ TRUE!

Fresh snow turns an ordinary walk or backyard playtime into a sensory playground.
New textures under their paws, exciting trapped scents to sniff, and the extra effort of running and digging all provide great mental and physical stimulation 🐾

Snow = enrichment straight from Mother Nature ❄️

Watch for shivering, paw lifting, or too much snow eating.
And don’t forget to wipe paws after walks to remove salt and de-icers!
