Burdock Root: Arcutium lappa: You can use the leaves, seeds, and the root for medicine: I have harvested the root which is great for the liver, helps with liver and gallbladder congestion. Burdock is also fantastic for the lymphatic system, helps with lymphatic congestion and edema. Very supportive for the urinary system, helps reduce inflammation. Burdock is one is the best herbs to help cleanse the blood, which will help with eczema and psoriasis. It’s also a great herb for rheumatic conditions because it helps detox the entire body. Works well with other herbs and roots to help support the body while dealing with cancer because of its anti-neoplastic properties. Always reach out to your G.P if you are on medications to make sure you have no interactions.

Some traditions call this time of the year, (Oct 31-Nov 1, 2nd) Dia de los mu***os, All Souls’ Day, Samhain, which is a time of remembering those who have transitioned here on Earth. These transitions all have similar rituals…. Creating Ancestral altars, leaving favourite foods out to honour those who have passed. Making medicines with plants in your lineage. It’s a time of shedding, honouring, grieving remembering. It’s a time where the veil is at it’s thinest between the dead and the living. Blessings to the seen and unseen realms. It’s my favourite time of the year where I can connect to my ancestors is a deep and meaningful way.

Mugwort herb/artemisia vulgaris: mugwort has a variety of different properties both physical and spiritual. Mugwort is a great herb for the reproductive system, supporting menstrual cramps, and helps regulate cycles. As a nervine, mugwort works on the nervous system, stimulating and also providing relaxation. Mugwort is great for calming the body while stimulating the mind. Mugwort is also great for the digestive system, supports better digestive due to its mild bitterness.
Spiritually, mugwort is a great herb for promoting dream work. Enhances intuition and psychic visions. Can be taken as a tincture, as a herbal tea. Can make a oil and also be used as a smudge to clear negative emotions.
Not safe to take while pregnant. Always reach out to your GP to make sure it doesn’t interact with any medications that you may be on.

Canada goldenrod/Solidago canadensis: I absolutely love this beautiful herb! Here are some of the wonderful properties goldenrod has to share with us all, great for the kidneys and prostate, prevents kidney stones, reduces inflammation in the urinary tract, and inflammation of the prostate. Also a fantastic herb for the lymphatic system, helps with move lymphatic congestion. Also very supportive for the Immune system, works as a immune stimulant, (great for added it to a cold formulation, helps with flu’s, fevers, coughs, allergies, sinusitis). Goldenrod is a vascular tonic which means it helps supports heart conditions. Also works on the nervous system, (reduces stress and nervousness). Due to its depurative nature it will help gently detox the overall body and help reduce rheumatic conditions. No toxicity. Always reach out to your GP to make sure it doesn’t interact with any medications you may be on.

Wild Rose: Such a beautiful shrub that contains so many medicinal and spiritual properties: The pedals from the flowers can be made into an infusion for the skin and eyes. In fall once the petals fall and the rose hips form, we can make tea or a vinegar infusion that is high in vitamin C. Also used as a flower essence for emotional conditions.
