TINNITUS

Tinnitus is the perception of sound—such as ringing, buzzing, hissing, or humming—in the ears or head without an external source, and it often stems from issues like hearing changes, neck or jaw tension, stress, or problems in the auditory system. Physiotherapy can help by addressing musculoskeletal contributors, particularly tension or dysfunction in the neck, jaw (TMJ), and surrounding muscles that can irritate nerves or alter blood flow related to auditory perception. Through targeted manual therapy, posture correction, stretching, strengthening, and relaxation techniques, physiotherapy can reduce strain, improve mobility, and lower overall stress levels—factors that may lessen the intensity or frequency of tinnitus for many people. ACUPUNCTURE can also be an amazing option for treating tinnitus.
