🏡 Do I Need a Permit for a Tiny Home? 🏡

One of the most common questions we get is “Do I need a permit for my tiny home?” The answer depends on where and how you plan to live in it!

🔹 Tiny Home on Wheels (THOW) – Often considered an RV, these typically don’t require building permits but must comply with local zoning and parking regulations. Some areas allow full-time living in a THOW, while others only permit them as temporary dwellings.

🔹 Tiny Home on a Foundation – If you’re building on a foundation, permits are usually required, just like any small house or accessory dwelling unit (ADU). Zoning laws and building codes will vary by city and region.

🔹 Bunkies & Small Structures – Many areas don’t require permits for structures under a certain size (like a bunkie or office space), making them a great option for extra space on your property.
