Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all—and neither is fitness. 💪

One of the unique things at Aurora is how we integrate physical wellness into the recovery—recognizing that rebuilding the body is a powerful part of rebuilding a life.

Because healing happens in both the mind and the body. 🌿

Today, March 20, we recognize Indigenous Two-Spirit Day — a day to honor and celebrate the strength, resilience, and beauty of Two-Spirit people within Indigenous communities.

Two-Spirit individuals have long held important roles as leaders, healers, and knowledge keepers. Today is a reminder to uplift their voices, respect their identities, and continue learning about the rich cultural teachings that have always existed.

At Aurora, we stand in support, respect, and allyship — creating space for all to feel seen, valued, and connected.

Last night at Continuing Care, we had the privilege of celebrating a very special milestone—4 years of sobriety with our alumni, Lana.

In Lana’s own words:
“There was a version of me that was lost, hurting, and barely holding on. But my kids… they were my reason to fight. 4 years later, I’m still here, still healing, still showing up. For them. For me. For the life we deserve. 4 years sober today.”

Lana, all of us at Aurora are so proud of you and we are very honoured to be a part of your healing journey. You are a true inspiration!

🖤🎈 Black Balloon Day 🎈🖤

Today we pause to remember the lives lost to overdose and the families and communities forever changed by those losses.

At Aurora, we honor their memory by continuing the work of recovery, compassion, and hope. Every day we are reminded that recovery is possible and that every life has value.

Today we remember.
Today we raise awareness.
Today we stand together in hope for healing and recovery. 🖤

There’s something powerful about working with horses.🐴🐎

Our clients share how Equine Assisted Learning has helped them develop leadership skills, rebuild confidence, improve boundaries, and trust themselves again.

Horses respond to authenticity — and that honest feedback creates real growth.

Recovery isn’t just about healing… it’s about becoming stronger than you ever thought possible.

Aurora is honored to now host Celebrate Recovery at our Gimli location as an option for those who wish to explore a biblical path in their recovery journey.

Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a faith-based program that helps individuals work through their Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits using a 12-step approach rooted in the Beatitudes from the Book of Matthew. Through fellowship, support, and spiritual growth, participants are encouraged to find healing, freedom, and hope in a safe and welcoming environment.

We are grateful to be able to offer another pathway to recovery, because there is no one-size-fits-all approach — only the one that helps you move forward. ❤️

Kraft Korner: Sew It!
This week at Kraft Korner, clients learned some basic sewing skills while creating their very own drawstring bags! 🪡🧵

Learning new skills is a great way to build confidence, practice patience, and discover hidden talents. Everyone did an amazing job, and the finished bags turned out fantastic!

At Aurora, we love seeing creativity in action and watching our clients try new things in their journey of Recovery for Life. 💙
