Treatment at Aurora is holistic, evidence-based, specialized and tailored to each individual Aurora Recovery Centre of Excellence is an addictions recovery and treatment centre headquartered in Manitoba, Canada that is guided by the principles of 12 step programming. With over 80 years of combined specialized experience in the addictions recovery field, the founders of ARC are passionate in providing clients with a holistic recovery process that covers the gaps often found in other recovery centres. An initial assessment of co-occurring disorders followed by a full residential recovery program, family programming and after care programming provides a maximized opportunity for each client.

On Christmas Day, our Extended Care members stepped outside our walls and into the heart of the community by attending the N'Dinawemak walk on Main Street in Winnipeg.

Together, they helped hand out food and essential clothing items to individuals in need — offering not just supplies, but kindness, respect, and human connection during the holidays. 🤍

Acts like these remind us that recovery is not only about healing ourselves, but also about showing up for others. We are incredibly proud of our Extended Care community for living the values of compassion, service, and gratitude this Christmas.

Giving back is powerful — for those receiving, and for those giving. 🎄✨

Filipinos share meaningful connections with Indigenous Peoples in the Western Hemisphere through ancient ancestry, shared traditions, spiritual values, and a deep respect for community and family. Many Filipinos continue to recognize cultural ties and shared roots with Indigenous communities across the U.S. and Canada.

This Christmas season, the Aurora community extends a heartfelt thank you to Winnipeg’s Filipino-founded People’s Baptist Church for their generous gift of Indigenous-centered Canadian Lifelight Study Bibles. These Bibles will be available to participants who choose to take part in our Bible-centered recovery programs and prayer meetings in our brand new Chapel building.

Your kindness supports spiritual choice, cultural respect, and hope on the recovery journey. 💛🎄

We gathered to open our little chapel this week — honouring the memory of Sandy and Mike, whose vision it was to have a sacred space created for prayer and reflection.

Many prayers were answered through this opening, and the vision of Sandy and Mike was honoured in a powerful way with drumming and singing, scripture, prayer, and deep reflection.

Grateful for this space, this moment, and the community that made it possible. 💙

🎄 12 Days of Christmas at Aurora ☕🍪

As part of our 12 Days of Christmas Countdown, we hosted a cozy hot chocolate station, and our amazing staff brought in Christmas baking for clients to enjoy together.

Celebrating a Christmas of sobriety is a huge milestone in recovery. For many, this may be the first holiday spent clear-minded, present, and truly able to feel joy without substances. Choosing sobriety during a season that can be emotionally and socially challenging takes courage, commitment, and strength.

At Aurora, we are proud of our clients for choosing recovery this Christmas and grateful to our staff for helping make it warm, welcoming, and meaningful. ✨💙

✨ Honoured to Welcome Adam Beach to Aurora ✨

We were thrilled to welcome Adam Beach to Aurora for as our surprise guest speaker on Sunday! A highly respected Indigenous actor, speaker, and advocate, Adam is known for powerful roles in films such as Smoke Signals, Windtalkers, Flags of Our Fathers, and Su***de Squad. Throughout his career, he has helped amplify Indigenous voices and challenge stereotypes, both on screen and beyond.

More importantly, Adam brought authenticity, openness, and heart to his time at Aurora. He shared messages of resilience, identity, and healing, reminding our clients that their stories matter and that recovery is possible. His advocacy around mental health, community, and staying connected to culture deeply resonates with the journey of healing and recovery.

Adam’s visit was more than a special guest appearance — it was a moment of genuine connection, hope, and encouragement for both clients and staff. We are grateful for his time, his words, and his commitment to uplifting others along their path toward healing. 💛

✨ Spreading Holiday Magic in Gimli! ✨

Our clients did an amazing job decorating the Aurora float for the Gimli Christmas Light Parade this past Saturday! 🎄⭐

Even in the chilling temperatures, they showed up with warm hearts and big smiles — eagerly handing out candy canes and light-up rings to the kids along the route. ❄️💙✨
