We were honoured to welcome Dr. NP Michelle Acorn, CEO of the Nurse Practitioners' Association of Ontario, to Goderich to help kick off Nurse Practitioners’ Week! She toured our hospital and the Maitland Valley Medical Centre, meeting with our incredible healthcare teams.

Mayor Trevor Bazinet also joined the visit, helping us highlight the vital role nurse practitioners play in providing compassionate, high-quality care close to home.

This week, we’re proud to recognize Marie, our Nurse Practitioner and President of the NPAO. Through her leadership, she is helping the Nurse Practitioner profession grow and supporting excellent patient care in our community and across Ontario.

On Remembrance Day, we honour the brave men and women who served our country, those who gave their lives, and those who returned forever changed. Their sacrifice reminds us not only to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy, but also to uphold the values they fought for and to contribute positively to our communities.

When asked about supporting the AMGH Foundation's Magnetic Moments campaign, Canadian Tire co-owner Tracy Telfer said, “as local business owners, we see every day how important a strong, healthy community is. Having an MRI machine right here at our rural hospital will make an incredible difference — giving families faster answers, better care, and one less reason to travel far from home. We’re proud to support this campaign and encourage others to join us."

Our hospital is getting a new MRI machine, and you can help make it happen!

From November 1-30, shop in-store at Canadian Tire Goderich and then add a donation to your bill to support the MRI campaign.

Every donation helps improve rural healthcare access and brings us closer to our $6.5 million fundraising goal.

This week, we’re celebrating our incredible team of Medical Radiation Technologists, the skilled professionals who help capture the images that make diagnosis and treatment possible.

For Kristin, who has been part of our AMGH team for 18 years, the most rewarding part of her work is caring for the very community she calls home. From creating a welcoming environment to supporting patients through vulnerable moments, Kristin says it’s these connections that make her most proud to be an MRT.

We’re so grateful for the expertise and commitment our MRTs bring to their work, and for the kindness and care they show to every patient they meet.
