🔔🎄Holiday Closure Announcement 🎄🔔

Dear valued patients,

We wish to inform you of an extended holiday closure at Grand Isle Drug Store and provide details on how we are ensuring your care during this time. Please note that outside of our regular schedule, the dispensary will also be closed for the week of Christmas from December 22th - December 26th, and detailed hours can be seen below. This year, we are closed for the same number of days as last year’s holiday season to allow our owner and pharmacist, Michael Munro, to visit his aging parents for the holidays.

As the sole pharmacist on Grand Manan Island, Michael has dedicated countless hours to supporting our community, offering extended clinical hours and injection clinics. Since taking ownership, Michael has worked tirelessly without a single sick day, prioritizing the needs of our patients above all else. We thank you for your understanding as he takes this rare opportunity to spend time away with his family.

Please see our scheduled Holiday Hours below and ensure you prepare in advance for any over-the-counter or prescription refill requirements to avoid shortages over the holiday period. We strongly encourage all patients to renew prescriptions early to ensure you have enough medication to last through the closure, and purchase over-the-counter medications in advance to avoid any disruptions during the holidays.

Should you require a prescription during the holiday closure, please note that the nearest pharmacy is Guardian St. George Pharmacy, which can be reached at (506) 755-3335. If you have an emergency or if you are in need of immediate assistance, please dial 911 or visit the Grand Manan Hospital.

This summer, we were able to provide 35 kids with weekly snacks from the After the Bell Program. Overall, 280 snack packs were distributed within 8 weeks! Thank you to Food Banks Canada and its partners for providing this opportunity at our local food bank.
